I believe that ABC/ESPN and FOX share the rights for the PAC12 (with the PAC12 network getting the bottom of the barrel games). So what games are on each network (and what time slot) are decided weekly (especially at the end of the season) to put the best games on during primetime.
Similarly, CBS has "dibs" on the SEC game of the week, and ESPN gets the rest. There are certain exceptions, like they can't pick the same team every single week or take the Iron Bowl every year.

Is there any chance Sebastian gets tapped for this game. I know BK said he wanted to not use him if at all possible. With KVR a no go and the Stanford game a must win... this is interesting.

Butler and Sebastian I think will be active. Unsure who gets majority reps. Thoughts peeps?

Sebastian ready to swivel them hips and turn and burn?

Why would Sebastian play corner. Butler gets the start with Coleman as backup.

He doesn't play corner. But it seems.the coaches are not high on Butler at CB and we are down an experienced DB. My question is would the.coaching staff tap Avery to play DB in any capacity since next week is so important.

I don't think so. Avery needs to be the starting SS next year. You have to roll with Butler or Coleman Saturday.

I think Coleman takes the majority of the snaps with minimal drop off.

So we'll be playing without our #1 QB, #1 and #2 RBs, #1 TE, the sixth man on the OL (Bars), #1 NT, #1 SLB, #1 and #3 CBs, and our #3 and #4 safeties.

And we still have a good shot. Huh.

I think the BK boo birds will be satisfied...until ND loses again.

So, our starting line-up against Stanford will include:

A 2nd string CB, 2nd string nickel, 2nd string DT, 2nd string TE, 2nd-3rd string QB, 4th & 5th string RBs, 2nd string hybrid OL/SS.... did I miss anyone else?

Just that.

Don't pretend that Deshone was anything more then our 3rd option coming into this season.

I think we beat Stanford convincingly. I also think we beat anyone left, (that's not named Alabama,) convincingly.

I hope we spy Hogan with Jaylon. The game I watched a couple weeks ago Hogan ran all over the place.

If there is anything you've ever posted that I wanted to believe 100%, this is it. I'm just afraid we may finally have too much attrition to overcome. It could just be my inner ND fan of the last 20 years coming out.

Time to man up and cheer this team to victory!!!!

I'm with you Jug, W or bust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So on ISD some posters were claiming that Daniel Cage's concussion was bad. As in not able to contribute for the Stanford game. Anybody have good news to refute that? Or will we hear at BK's presser tomorrow?

But he was. BK has said more than once, he has been very surprised by Kizer's mental aspect of the game and how cool he is. BK thought he had a more traditional tall drop back QB. He was not looked at as a DT QB, but once put in the position to play him, BK has learned things (how he handles pressure, decision making, etc.) about DK that you can't see in practice.

I look for Kizer and the entire team to bounce back from that crappy win and play lights out.

I'll say this, for us to win without the aforementioned players (and possibly w/o Cage) we need to play our most complete game of the season. The last two weeks have been abysmal football and we would've lost to most top 25 teams the last two weeks.

If we want to get into the playoffs, we need to play a clean game.

I agree. I posted in the BC recap, that I think the players were just going through the motions the last two games while having an eye on the Stanford game. Now that the game that "really" matters is here, I think the team will be sharp, focused and ready.

This might be the move. BC's QBs ran over us, it really was their only offense. To me the gameplan is stop the QB run and stack the box on McCaffery. Risky given Keivarae is out but that is the formula that NW used to shut that offense down.

Guys have stepped up all year, we just gotta hope someone does the same with KVR out. These are all 4-star recruits, so we know they have the capability to be good players. Get it done boys!

Win this game and let's get healthy for the playoffs.

That would really suck if Cage is out. Never heard of a guy being out 3 weeks for a concussion.

You would have to think this could hurt his career at ND. Missing 3 weeks isn't good unless they aren't giving all the details.

I think this game is going to be a shoot out. I thinks the defenses for both teams are going to get abused. If we turn the ball of 3 tines we get beat but 2 scores.

Concussions have different levels of severity. If he's out for the third week in a row, then it has to be pretty bad. The testing they use these days is so sophisticated, that you can't hardly fool the doctors anymore.

I read the transcript of Kelly's Sunday teleconference. Kelly said he expects Cage back for Stanford. He also said that he expected Nick Watkins, Nick Coleman and Devin Butler to be in the mix to replace KVR. All have different strengths; all will likely play.

Side note: the transcript consistently referred to Devin Butler as Adam Butler. Wtf? He didn't change his name and I missed it did he?

My brother was out for 3 weeks last football season for a concussion. The Drs. said it wasn't a serious one, but he kept getting headaches when he'd work out. All people recover at different rates too.

Total : (#22) 6.4 yds/att, 454 yds/game ---vs--- (#61) 6.2 yds/att, 439 yds/game

Stanford offense vs ND defense:

Scoring : (#13) 23.0 pts/game ---vs--- (#28) 25.8 pts/game

Good stuff. So even numbers wise, going to be a great battle.

Good chance this game either makes or breaks Christian McCaffry's Heisman campaign; and looking at Stanford's run game vs our run defense that looks like their only advantage. We need to sell out to stop him.
