What I don't understand is how for the third straight year this team goes into the last game of the season devastated by injuries? Maybe Koon is right and a change needs to be made with strength and conditioning coach. Fire Longo

I'm going to take the high road and say, this near loss is going to get the coaches and players fired the fuck up for next week.

I feel like a 40 point win could have made us too lethargic.

I don't think so.
Every team struggles at some point in the season.
We won and will be ranked 3 or 4.

+ 1

Pur-don't is the 96th ranked defense in the nation and Iowa beats them by 20.........

96th.......

As I posted before, if BC has any type offense, they are a different team

I am not saying fire him because I have no clue what their program entails but often times it goes straight back to that. Good programs prevent injuries..

Fuller, Carlisle, Brown, Robinson, Tight Ends, Prosise, etc.

Kizer is unable to move the ball around at this point. Perhaps attributable to his inexperience, but nonetheless, ND would dominate if he could hit more of these receivers on a consistent basis. Imagine hitting 5 different receivers with the ball during a game (consistently) - what that would do for the overall offensive scheme. No one, and I mean no one could touch ND.

Anyway, we're 10-1. That's playing good football. Great football categorically, will come with a Stanford win. GO IRISH!!

Unable???? 320 yards with our #2 and #3 receivers going over 100.

It certainly wasn't his best game (I've been critical of his play tonight) but unable is way off base.

Honestly I would love to go to the playoffs. But once Malik went down I would have been thrilled to go to a New Years 6 bowl, which we have locked up now.

This year anyway, the injuries don't seem like a S & C problem. I can't think of any muscle injuries, everything seems to be ankles getting rolled up on or knee injuries. Not sure how you prevent ankles getting rolled and broken but I'm obviously not an expert.

I agree. I would have been ecstatic with 10 wins after Virgina. Amazing how things change.

I'm just so disappointed that the team didn't have more killer instinct. They had every opportunity to blow the game open. Then after fucking that up we still should've won 26-9... but Fuller has his third drop and our defense plays comically bad.

At 19-16 you give tons of fuel to ND getting left out of playoffs that doesn't exist at 26-9... much less 42-0 which would've been a realistic score considering WEHAD SEVEN RED ZONE TRIPS.

Even worse you lose KVR and Prosise. These injuries are ridiculous.

That's where I'm at. BC didn't pull the upset, but they still managed to spoil our championship hopes for a 3rd time.

MSU with a loss jumps all the way up to take the same ranking as an undefeated team had a week ago???

The CFP is supposed to reset every week. Our signature wins are garbage. It's not our fault as schedules are made years ahead of time. But wins against Texas, USC, and GT don't look like much. Our best wins are Temple, Navy, Pitt. Does that compare to beating Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan? It sure shouldn't. I'm just happy we're 10-1.

Yes, yes, and yes

I kept saying this but nobody wants to listen. You can't play like this and beat better teams. The one better team we played, we lost to. This performace does not constitute the #4 ranking we have. I'll take it and eat but it's not as good as some want to make it.

I bit my tongue last week after a fairly poor offensive performace and this week it got worse. Kizer was terrible, Fuller's struggles come up again, and we're supposed to beat the best teams in the country, really?

So tell me how a QB or RB has a defender land on his ankle and rolls him backwards either fracturing or spraining it can be prevented with a good strength and conditioning program. Ankles are not meant to be bent backwards.

This I'll agree with. Makes terrible decisions in the RZ and throws behind recievers consistently. He also consistently rips the throws he shouldn't and lobs the throws he should rip.

Yea, I think they just did. We need even more today than we did yesterday. Hopefully the guys in that room understand it and figure it out.

haha. You sir are nuts.

U sir are settling for less. When a team with this much talent plays down to the armpit of college football and hasn't blown a team out in a decade need to realize the coaches need to go saban and take care of business for once.

We are a top 4 team but may not get a chance due to top 25 coaching.

So, about that OU statement win. They're up 10 on a team that may likely fall from the rankings if the score holds. Lost their starting QB, but we've lost much more this year. And our RB today. 8 mins to go and they just turned it over.

Isn't this the most ND has won in two decades?????? God what were we settling for then?

Yeah TCU still has a shot. Us falling out of top 4 after all performances today is over reacting, IMO.

That's how I feel but he said multiple times he won't know for 24-48 hours. Andthat others on team have injury and are playing but that injury is different at the rb position.
