For all the bellyaching last week the CFP Committee proves prescient.

All the unbeatens in front of ND in the AP save Baylor lost this week.

#4 LSU loses
#5 TCU loses
#6 MSU loses

Okie State might jump us, and honestly they'd probably deserve to. Won't be too worried if it happens, lots of churning left in the Big XII.

I don't get the "Ok. St. deserves to jump us" line of thinking. They had a very good win today, yes, but their entire body of work is not at all impressive. Their 2nd/3rd best win is against 4-4 WVU and 5-4 Texas Tech. Their non-conference slate includes victories over Central Michigan, Central Arkansas, and Texas-San Antonio.

I think those who think they should leapfrog us are caught up in only this week's games. When you compare both team's resumes, as a whole, ND clearly has had the more impressive season up to this point.

This week or eventually? I bet they don't until (if) they beat Baylor in 2 weeks. Baylor might jump ND with a win over OU next week.

Ole Miss blows. Why is Alabama's loss to them largely overlooked?

Because Alabama did it to themselves with 5 TOs.

Ugh f**k Iowa. If ND got shut out of the playoffs by Iowa I would be pissed. I was going to ask how they keep winning but then I glanced at their schedule. 3 good/decent teams and a bunch of garbage.

We lost one, they would have lost none. Plus an extra game vs a top10 team.

Minnesota just pulled within 7 of OSU. Even if OSU hangs on Ohio State does not look like a top 4 team to me.

Not without Barrett at QB. With Barrett they roll people for fun. And Ezekiel Elliot.

Oklahoma state has a very good chance of jumping us.

Just as good chance to lose 2 of the next 3. I'd much rather be us then them.

Exactly. Control your own and the rest takes care of itself.

They're also undefeated, which I'm told counts for something.

e. I mean, I think it's a pretty close call and, like I said, in the long run doesn't mean much- if they run the table on their schedule, they're in. If not, they're out.

And those two teams are a combined 15-2 with the only 2 losses being to us. If USC can get their s**t together win a few more they should be ranked in a week or two.

They are already at 27. If they can pull away from Zona they could be in the AP this week.

I don't think OK State will pass us. That entire committee knows they have no idea how good anyone in the Big-12 really is. Reminds me of the Big East when Louisville/WVU would start Top-10 every year and play no one. Worried about LSU being ahead of us, but I think we would pass them at 11-1 with the Stanford win if it came down to it.

Hopefully LSU won't be a problem. I think they showed that they have many weaknesses outside of Fournette, and that they can be exploited badly.

Hope we play Bama and drop 40 on that mediocre defense. Love to see that rematch with this offense. SEC is overrated and I hope they all end up with 2 losses somehow. Frauds.

Have u watched Stanford... That team looks solid... We are going to be 4 or 5 point underdogs when we play them

Yeah... I have a feeling McCaffrey is giving BVG some sleepless nights right now.

Alabama mediore defense? Listen I am drinking the kool-aid as much as anyone but if you think we would drop 40 on them you are absolutely stoned.

Say what you will about LSU being one-dimensional. Bama held the best running back in the country to 31 yards on 19 carries.

This.

Bama stonewalled LSU and stuffed the best RB in the country. Their DL is the best in the country and nobody else comes close.

So my Michigan fan roommate seems to wholeheartedly believe Michigan gets in over 1 loss ND if Michigan wins out...

Okie State might jump us. They might not. All they did was expose a paper-thin TCU defense that's been on the edge all year. But it won't matter. Big 12 should sort itself out in the end and unless one of them winds up undefeated it's just week-to-week noise.

Alabama has a top defense by pretty much all measures. They rate out a bit lower than Clemson, but by the end of the year they'll probably be equivalent. Alabama is the only team in the top 10 that I'm sure Notre Dame is not "better" than... we could beat them, but looking at their team and watching them play multiple games I'm comfortable saying they have a better team.

I really do think we're on par with Clemson and Ohio State. We proved it against Clemson on the field, and there is nothing Ohio State has done to impress me. I know we're better than Oklahoma State, because I saw them have to cheat their way to victories against Texas and KSU.

I think Baylor is a complete fraud. That is just personal opinion, but this window dressing BS where you run an up tempo offense to maximize possessions and beat the pants of TERRIBLE teams to look good is what Oregon did for years. And inevitably, Oregon would have to play one game a season against someone who could punch them in the mouth and win at the line of scrimmage... and all of a sudden their "unstoppable" offense was very stoppable. I think we'd beat Baylor by 2+ TDs.
