Day is balling out right now. On pace for 5 sack and 17 TFL's last time I checked. Big time DT numbers.

Also, good for Sheldon to come back and have a monster season. Improving his draft stock, getting his degree, and getting some W's.

IrishFanJMercy says there is no chance he comes back. His bro told him so.

Biggest thing for him this year was staying healthy (fingers crossed). I think he is probably in the best shape since he has been at ND, which is a big reason he has stayed healthy this year. Remember his freshman year when he wanted the honey buns and the texas cinnamon rolls, but big Lou told him no?

Happy that Sheldon came back. Has really played himself into a higher round pick. A few experts raving about his play so far.

Yea, if he keeps this up, I don't see him getting past the 3rd round. Where last year I thought that was the highest possible round he could be drafted.

I know that stars don't matter, but our 2 best defensive players are 4+, and 5 stars.

Thats a very valid point. Rochell and Cole Luke, IMO our 3rd and 4th best defensive players, were highly rated and national recruits as well.

I wouldn't put Luke as our 3rd/4th best defensive player. He's been rather average this year. Pretty good in pass coverage, horrible in run defense. I'd say Okwara is our 4th best behind Rochell.

Okwara has been good, but Cole Luke has been fantastic IMO. There is a reason we rarely hear his name.

Kelly has said that you can manufacture offense but neeed to recruit defense. Our two best offensive players IMO (Fuller & Prosise) were both 3 stars coming out. Kelly may be right on this.

Edit: Looked at Fuller's composite and he was a 4 star but the 41st rated WR.

This is so true. That's why it's easy for a new coach to come in and implement an offense that can score relatively easily. Spread the D out and get one on one match ups. Kevin Wilson at IU is a good example. He came in and immediately IU was scoring points without a lot of problems, but here he is several years later and they still can't make a stop.

Very deserving of this honor, congrats Sheldon.

However, I too am stunned that neither Stanley or Big Mike were even on the second team. Stanley is going to be one of the first OL off the draft board and Mike's numbers were equally insane. Also, we generated some pretty staggering rushing numbers with our 4th string RB. Now that kid is pretty good but that should still matter.
