I would love either player.

I wonder how optimistic ND is about getting one of them.

according to those in the gug--pride is considered the best pure corner....hamlin has flexibility to be a free safety but also a corner...so one is more shutdown esq and other gives flex....


hamlin's optimism from tv sounds like it is improving

pride sounds like he is in a wait and see mode w/ vt...which could drag out for a while

So Loy said that its going to come down to Pride or Hamlin and both have the greenlight. If/when one of them picks ND, it more than likely closes the door for the other.

I think at this stage Hamlin is a better CB and Pride is the better athlete. Therefore, I could see Pride having a higher ceiling but I'm not sure he'll be ready to compete as soon as Hamlin would. Hamlin, like Studstill, does a lot of things really well that you want in a CB without being an exceptional athlete. Just my take.

Hamlin looks the part of a Free Safety like Studstill and Okeke to me.

Anna spoke to him. He was surprised to hear about Beamer. He wants to see what happens with coaches Foster and Gray. He was sounds pretty torn about choosing. He still thinks about how good the ND visit was and talks to Denson, Lyght and Kelly. Probably know month toward the end of the month.

Fwiw, his comments about how ND is recruiting makes me appreciate the ND staff more. No trash talk, ND isn't for everyone and you either get it or you don't. Pride gets it.

kid was interviewed on one of the podcasts recently (ISD or BGI) and he was damn impressive. He talks kind of frenetically like KVR but he's incredibly clued in to what recruiting was all about. He's most definitely a ND type of kid

Are we still in either/or mode with Pride and Hamlin? Because I'd love to have both!

Doesn't have a lot of offers. Wonder if other schools will make a run and offer now that he's a free bird. I know he'll likely end at ND, but JW if some bug schools go at him now or not.

Seems to be an emerging pattern, at least recently. Disappointing if he does not commit because I like Pride Jr.

Foster said the other day that he knew that VT wanted him to stay but he didn't know in what capacity. He seems never to have wanted to head coach, but is so entrenched in the Blacksburg community, that he'd like to stay there in some job. Any new HC would be nuts not to retain him, but as we know, many people ARE nuts. If Foster would stay DC, Torian Gray would probably stay too. BUT, such a firming up of things still might not happen quick enough for young Mr. Pride to hold off deciding.

Against our interests, any new HC might REALLY want to retain Foster and Gray to save the recruiting class.

anyways a clemson 247 guy just put a cb in for pride....there is nothing thus far out that i have seen to indicate pride wanting to go there...he had no back info regarding his cb when asked

Good stuff. I asked Anna as well earlier this morning. She has solid Clemson ties and I'm waiting to hear back if an offer from them, which only 247 lists, would change things.
