Most of my ND friends are Cubs fans and it's the bye week so there's no ND talk going on at all. It's even drowned out the Trump vs. Hill-Bern nagging so.... i guess some good has come of it.

Nope. Not giving up (not that I have any impact on the outcome).

The Red Sox narrative is what we have left. I've been a fan for my entire life and remain optimistic. Realistically, I know it won't happen. But, hey, until the 27th out of the elimination game is done, there's a chance!

Also worth noting that the 1985 team wasn't built through the draft. It was purchased in free agency and traded for.

Dernier, Bowa, Matthews, Cey, Sandberg, Durham, Sutcliffe...all imports. Several were also on the down side of their careers. That's not how this team is built. This team is built, frankly, like the Cardinals are built.

It's amazing how many references and promotions are going on this week and this year. The Cubs in the playoffs (Although it's looking bad right now), Pepsi Perfect, Nike was to make some limited edition self lacing shoes, Ford is selling Fiestas and Focuses this week with Flux Capacitors (And a $1.2 million price tag). Toyota just released an ad for a car that runs on garbage effectively (Hydrogen converted from waste). A version of hoverboards exists, although not quite like the movies. There's been a bunch more, but I can't remember all of them. I've never seen a movie that has affected pop culture years after it's release like BttF 2 has.

Thinking about getting together with some buddies tonight to at least watch #2 and do a drinking game during the viewing maybe.

On opening weekend of BTTF... think it was July 4th-ish, the local theater approached my father to use his DeLorean in front of the theater. So on Friday and Saturday night I stood out front by the car to make sure nobody did anything silly. They were smart enough to put the felt ropes around it and they bought dry ice in to give it that cheesy 80's, B movie feel. Job well done.

I will say, that car and that movie combined to give me a... decided schematic advantage. Having that car at Miami U was complete debauchery.

I went out looking for that edition of USA Today...only to realize later that it's for tomorrow's edition. I figured they were releasing it today since today is the big day, but it makes sense that the paper that Doc had was from the next day. Duh.
