Wiltfong saying he has classroom work to do in order to be a take by ND. Any truth to that?

Does this ever work out in ND's favor? Maybe so on signing day but come the following June.... Not so much.

it was pointed out on 247....there were kids who had "work to do" that made it in last year's class....doesn't sound like he has the largest hurdles from the way it has been portrayed..REALLY LIKES HOW WE USE THE SLOT position

Clearly he hasn't been watching us then, lol.

I hope I'm wrong but Alloway looks at 32.7% better for the slot compared to Stovall. Let's hope I'm wrong or Alloway pops soon.

If all you're doing is lining up in the slot then I agree. If this player is going to be taking 10+ carries/game, then I like stovall. I've started to lean towards Stovall due to the fact that if we start utilizing a more run oriented spread, ala Oregon/Auburn, then I'd like a guy that can take those carries and still play outside. Don't see Alloway being as productive doing that.

I think Stovall is orders of magnitude better than Alloway, but I don't really like either of them that much.

Since it appears I'm in the minority, let's all just hope I'm wrong :)

I still want Kirk Merritt, he's just one of those random players that really caught my eye because of his acceleration.

"I've been talking to Damian about that," Stovall said. "We both like them. We are just thinking how far it is right now."

To be honest this would be an added benefit. I do not believe we need a slot receiver this year.

I'm on the Sanders train regardless. I would love to have one of the two though.

Scout: had a very good visit (fans, coaches, offense). Will discuss with his family. This may be a key quote:

“I met with admissions to see how it looks for me getting in academic-wise,” he said. “It looks pretty good. They said they’ll let me know if things work out. They said they’re still worried about a few things but I made a good first impression.”

Not to worry- these things always work out at ND. Right? RIGHT??!

This is where I'm going to sound arrogant but I kind of hope academics allow us to slow play him. Is he top of the board as RB/APB?

him and alloway are to ND....wiltfong had mentioned before there was some work to do and that it wasn't anything crazy

Sounds a little like a coin toss between him and Alloway. Initially it sounded like Alloway was #1 but I'm not sure thats the case anymore. Sounds like first come first serve at this point.

Still having trouble seeing how we could take a kid that is a slot only over a kid who can play some RB.

We need RB depth in a big way. I'd like to take 2 plus a APB/slot.

We have absolutely no need for another WR, and we are leading for a high 4-star and still very much in it for a 5-star.

IMO, I think Mr. Alloway's time may have passed, as good as he looks.

With Folston going down it basically guarantees that we'll have all 4 RB's coming back next year. Also, we have Tony Jones Jr. already so that makes a 5 deep position, not sure that depth is a dire as you make it sound.

I too like Stovall more as he gives us some carries out of the backfield but this just isn't the case.

Prosise, Adams, Williams, Folston, Brent, Jones. Maybe 6? Or are we counting on Prosise not taking a 5th yr?

Good call, forgot Brent. Don't see that as a depth issue. Especially considering that we'll have 3 and maybe 4 guys that will have established production once this season is over.

If Brent isn't getting snaps this year, he's never going to get them. Yes, that's a strong declaration but if there was ever an opportunity to seize playing time, it was this year. The fact the he couldn't beat out two non-EE true freshman for PT tells me all I need to know.

Folston, Prosise, Adams and Dex will all have a great deal of experience/seasoning.

Brent is moving positions again, has to. He's either going to be given a shot at safety or the safety/LB hybrid or perhaps a true LB but there is no way he stays on offense now. I just can't see any reason for him to stay at RB.

I don't see Brent sticking either, and I think there is a good chance Procise goes pro.

That leaves 3, 2 of which will have had knee surgery.

On the other hand, we have 1 billion WRs.
