Why does that mean Bush gets a bad rap? He surrounded himself with those guys. He gave them too much control. He listened to them. He was "the decider," right?

Don't get me started on giving FEMA to the arabian horse guy...

Woah nelly.

I said more of a bad rap then deserves. I didn't say he is blameless or faultless. He made his fair share of mistakes but also did a lot of good behind the scenes.

Bro hug?

Please start ...

With the Democratic Mayor that was given 48 hours PERSONAL notice by the head of the NHC and did nothing for the next 36 hours. "Ya'll come down to the Dome. We'll take care of you."

The Democratic Mayor that's in prison for abusing relief funds.

With the Democratic Governor that also did nothing but bicker with the mayor. Then after the storm, bickered with the President over command of Federal Troops.

Now that the Democratic Mayor and Governor created the human disaster through malfeasance, ignoring disaster professionals, NOT evacutating people, and sending people to shelters that weren't prepared to receive them, blame the FEDS for not getting water bottles and Air conditioned trailers in soon enough while the Governor and Mayor continued to have a power struggle with each other and the Feds.

With all due respect, that's a non sequitur. I don't believe I mentioned anything about the mayor or governor doing great work. The failure of the crony-appointed, totally unqualified, no experience in disaster relief FEMA director, Michael Brown, is well documented. No need for me to rehash it here.

Of course there's no need. An ounce of prevention is still worth a pound of cure and neither Nawlins nor the state got that ounce. So they pointed fingers at Uncle Sam for their malfesance. I'm not praising Brown. I putting the blame where it belongs, the City and the State failing to act despite adequate warning.

Mississippi got hit just as bad and didn't have the pissing power contests that Louisiana did. Evacuate the people on a timely basis like Houston did and you don't drown your people or your buses.

You actually want Trump as President? Really? I've had my fill of pompous, antagonistic dipshits with zero qualifications during the last seven years... I'm good on a repeat performance, thank you.

Intel review backs up finding that Clinton emails had ‘top secret’ information | Fox News

Catherine Herridge
By Catherine HerridgePublished September 08, 2015FoxNews.com

A new review by two intelligence agencies has backed up an earlier conclusion that at least two emails on Hillary Clinton's personal server contained "top secret" information.

The review by the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency went back to the original source documents, and follows the finding last month by the intelligence community inspector general that emails on the former secretary of state's system contained information at the highest classification level. This included intelligence on special programs about North Korea's nuclear weapons.

Fox News is told the CIA and NGA did the review because their intelligence was at issue. Only the intelligence agency that gets the information in the first place has the authority to determine its classification.

In both emails, the State Department did not generate the intelligence, and therefore did not have classification authority. The inspector general's August report simply transmitted the classification findings of the CIA and NGA.

In a statement, Andrea Williams, a spokeswoman for the intelligence community inspector general, said "the overall classification of those two emails remains unchanged. Both emails were classified when they were created and remain classified now."

The conclusion further undercuts the Clinton campaign's claim that the classification issue amounts to a dispute among agencies.

Hillary Clinton on emails: 'I'm sorry about that' - CNNPolitics.com

Teddy Schleifer
By Dan Merica and Theodore Schleifer, CNN
Updated 5:27 PM ET, Tue September 8, 2015

New York (CNN)Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton said Tuesday she is "sorry" for using a private email server, going further than ever before to express remorse for the controversy that has rocked her campaign.

"I'm sorry about that," Clinton said, according to a video clip set to air on ABC News' "World News Tonight with David Muir." "I take responsibility and I am trying to be as transparent as I possibly can."

It is unclear what Muir's question was.

Though Clinton has expressed remorse and taken responsibility for her exclusive use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state, she told The Associated Press on Monday in Iowa that she doesn't need to apologize for her nagging email controversy because "what I did was allowed."

"(The email controversy) hasn't in any way affected the plan for our campaign, the efforts we're making to organize here in Iowa and elsewhere in the country," Clinton said. "And I still feel very confident about the organization and the message that my campaign is putting out."

In an interview with MSNBC earlier this month, Clinton apologized for the "confusion" around her exclusive use of a private email server as secretary of state and took responsibility for the controversy, but declined to directly apologize for the email set up.

Clinton's aides have argued that she didn't need to apologize, given what she did was allowed by the State Department, but Clinton's answer on Tuesday seems further than she has gone before.

Clinton turned over 55,000 pages of emails to the State Department earlier this year, but the email controversy has not gone away, partly because of a congressional inquiry into the terrorist attacks in Benghazi has also focused on Clinton's email set up.

David Axelrod, a former top campaign adviser to President Barack Obama, told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on "The Situation Room" Tuesday that Clinton's evolving answers on the subject have been costly.

"Her answers have evolved over time and have prolonged this story," said Axelrod, who is a CNN senior political commentator. "She's trying to bring this thing to an end so she can be heard on other subjects, but she needs a consistent answer."

Evolving answers is a kind way of saying liar by nature, but sensitive to polling...

I realize we are still operating on name recognition at this point...and I'm hoping people eventually understand who and what she is such that she doesn't even get the nomination.

Sorry For What, Hillary? - National Journal - Ron Fournier

1. While apoMichiganloMichigangizMichiganing in an ABC inMichiganterMichiganview on TuesMichiganday, you said, “What I had done was alMichiganlowed, it was above board.” You must know by now that while the State DeMichiganpartMichiganment alMichiganlowed the use of home comMichiganputers in 2009, agency rules reMichiganquired that email be seMichigancured. Yours was not. Just nine months inMichiganto your term, new regMichiganuMichiganlaMichigantions reMichiganquired that your emails be capMichigantured on deMichiganpartMichiganment servMichiganers. You stashed yours on a home-brewed sysMichigantem unMichigantil ConMichigangress found out. Why not adMichiganmit you viMichiganolMichiganated policy? Why do you keep misMichiganleadMichiganing people?

2. If what you did was “above board,” then you wouldn’t obMichiganject to all exMichiganecMichiganutMichiganive branch ofMichiganfiMichigancials at every level of govMichiganernMichiganment and from both parties storMichiganing their email on private servMichiganers – out of the pubMichiganlic’s reach. Tell me how that wouldn’t subMichiganvert the fedMichiganerMichiganal FreeMichigandom of InMichiganformMichiganaMichigantion Act and “sunMichiganshine laws” in every state?

3. If what you did was “alMichiganlowed,” then you wouldn’t obMichiganject to all exMichiganecMichiganutMichiganive branch ofMichiganfiMichigancials at every level of govMichiganernMichiganment and from both parties usMichiganing secret servMichiganers to shield themMichiganselves from leMichigangisMichiganlatMichiganive overMichigansight. Wouldn’t that unMichiganderMichiganmine the leMichigangisMichiganlatMichiganive branch’s conMichiganstiMichigantuMichigantionMichiganal auMichiganthorMichiganity? Wouldn’t it lead to more politMichiganicMichiganal corMichiganrupMichigantion?

4. If what you did beMichigancame a naMichigantionMichiganwide preMichigancedMichiganent, hisMichigantorMichiganiMichiganans would be left with exMichiganpoMichigannenMichigantially less archivMichiganal maMichiganterMichiganiMichiganal to exMichiganplain the acMichigantions of politMichiganicMichiganal leadMichiganers. You would have helped to erase the pubMichiganlic memory. OK with that?

5. Who auMichiganthorMichiganized the deMichiganleMichigantion of 31,000 emails from your servMichiganer? Who carMichiganried it out? Were they apMichiganproved to reMichiganview and seMichigancure clasMichigansiMichiganfied docMichiganuMichiganments?

6. The pubMichiganlic and ConMichigangress has no right to see your truly perMichigansonMichiganal email. Do you conMichigansider email about your famMichiganily’s foundMichiganaMichigantion to be perMichigansonMichiganal? Can you guarMichigananMichigantee that none of the deMichiganleted email inMichiganvolved the Bill, HilMichiganlary & Chelsea ClinMichiganton FoundMichiganaMichigantion or its donors?

7. You said you didn’t have time to think about your email sysMichigantem when you starMichiganted at State, but it apMichiganpears you put a lot of thought inMichiganto it. You said you did it for the conMichiganveniMichiganence of havMichiganing one device, but we found out later you carMichiganried at least two. You also said it was for you and PresMichiganidMichiganent ClinMichiganton to email each othMichiganer, but we now know he has only emailed once in his life. Why can’t we get a straight anMichiganswer about why you creMichiganated an unMichiganauMichiganthorMichiganized, unMichiganpreMichigancedMichiganenMichiganted email inMichiganfraMichiganstrucMichiganture?

8. You’ve givMichiganen the avMichiganerMichiganage voter the right – and reMichiganportMichiganers the reMichigansponsMichiganibMichiganilMichiganity – to ask an ugly quesMichigantion: What were you hidMichiganing?

9. Ever hear of Thomas Drake? He’s the former seniMichiganor NaMichigantionMichiganal SeMichigancurMichiganity Agency ofMichiganfiMichigancial inMichigandicted unMichigander the EsMichiganpiMichiganonMichiganage Act for keepMichiganing an agency email prinMichigantout at his home that was not marked as clasMichigansiMichiganfied. He pleaded guilty to a misMichigandeMichiganmeanMichiganor. Why do you and your aides keep sugMichigangestMichiganing that it matMichiganters whethMichiganer or not your emails were marked clasMichigansiMichiganfied?

10. You emailed your Middle East enMichiganvoy, George Mitchell, soMichiganliMichigancitMichiganing a “reply” to your “perMichigansonMichiganal email.” He reMichigansponMichiganded with what is a now clasMichigansiMichiganfied sumMichiganmary of his disMichigancusMichigansion with Italy’s ForMichiganeign MinMichiganisMichiganter. Did you not know that type of head-of-state comMichiganmuMichigannicMichiganaMichigantion is inMichiganstantly clasMichigansiMichiganfied? What were you exMichiganpectMichiganing to hear from Mr. Mitchell?

11. ReMichiganmemMichiganber getMichiganting an email about the mapMichiganping of North Korea’s nucMichiganleMichiganar proMichigangram, which has since been marked clasMichigansiMichiganfied? Why didn’t you raise any red flags inMichiganternMichiganally, or do you think this type of inMichiganformMichiganaMichigantion should be leMichigangitMichiganimMichiganately unMichiganclasMichigansiMichiganfied?

12. You paid a State DeMichiganpartMichiganment techMichigannoMichiganlogy ofMichiganfiMichigancial privately to mainMichigantain your private sysMichigantem. Huma Abedin was paid by the State DeMichiganpartMichiganment, your foundMichiganaMichigantion, and a conMichigansultMichiganing firm. Aren’t these conMichiganflicts of inMichiganterest? Is double-dipMichiganping apMichiganproMichiganpriMichiganate for all fedMichiganerMichiganal workMichiganers or just your closest aides?

13. When the White House wouldn’t let you hire SidMichiganney BluMichiganmenthMichiganal, you put him on the foundMichiganaMichigantion payroll and soMichiganliMichigancited his adMichiganvice. Didn’t that viMichiganolMichiganate the spirMichiganit of the White House veto? Why did you claim pubMichiganlicly that his adMichiganvice was unMichigansoMichiganliMichigancited?

14. SevMichiganerMichiganal of BluMichiganmenthMichiganal’s emails were deMichiganleted from your servMichiganer and reMichigancovered later through othMichiganer sources. Why shouldn’t we asMichigansume othMichiganer work-reMichiganlated emails were deMichiganleted?

15. How many servMichiganers were there? Is the deMichiganleted data on any othMichiganer devices?

16. Did you take any trainMichiganing as first lady, senMichiganatMichiganor or SecMichiganretMichiganary of State on what is deemed clasMichigansiMichiganfied and how to handle and store clasMichigansiMichiganfied maMichiganterMichiganiMichiganal? When was the last time?

17. You’re not the tarMichiganget of an FBI inMichiganvestMichiganigMichiganaMichigantion at this time. Is it fair to say the FBI would not be inMichiganvestMichiganigMichiganatMichiganing the inMichigansecMichiganurMichiganity of clasMichigansiMichiganfied inMichiganformMichiganaMichigantion abMichigansent the acMichigantions you took? If not, please exMichiganplain.

18. If the FBI finds you imMichiganpropMichiganerly handled clasMichigansiMichiganfied inMichiganformMichiganaMichigantion, but does not charge you with a crime, will you mainMichigantain that you did nothMichiganing wrong? (Yes, ma’am, that is a hyMichiganpoMichiganthetMichiganicMichiganal, but so is a presMichiganidMichiganenMichigantial canMichigandidMichiganacy. Please anMichiganswer.)

19. Is U.S. naMichigantionMichiganal seMichigancurMichiganity more or less seMichigancure as a resMichiganult of your servMichiganer’s exMichiganistMichiganence?

Mike Huckabee is a tool. Pandering for votes while calling the SCOTUS a tyrant. I wonder if he called them a tyranny after the Citizens United ruling.

http://youtu.be/xehcrmSsLZQ

I don't like his rhetoric, but he does have a point, in the following:

The law of the Commonwealth of Kentucky does not allow for gay marriage. The SCOTUS has ruled that that law is unconstitutional. However, until that law is amended, it is still the law. The SCOTUS doesn't write law, they only interpret it. When they rule on a subject like, say, the Castle Doctrine; it doesn't change the law. It just changes whether or not Prosecutors are willing to bring charges against someone. It is still up to the applicable legislature to actually change the law. So if this women (dumbly) refused to issue marriage licenses for gay couples, in accordance with the law, then how the hell did she end up in jail?

I am not defending her, I just point out that the situation does raise an interesting debate.

No, she refused ALL marriage licenses, gay or straight. No one was getting married under God's law, which I find highly contradictory of the Bible as well.

Bernie Sanders draws even with Hillary Clinton in Iowa - CNNPolitics.com

Washington (CNN)Bernie Sanders has drawn even with Hillary Clinton for the first time in Iowa, according to a new poll Thursday, underscoring the possibility that the once prohibitive Democratic favorite could lose both of the first two presidential contests.

Sanders edges Clinton 41% to 40% in a new survey by Quinnipiac University, overtaking the former secretary of state as she continues to be dogged by questions about her use of a private email server when she was in public office. Sanders trailed her by 21 points the last time Quinnipiac surveyed the field two months ago, and that margin has more or less held in surveys in Iowa throughout the summer -- until recently.

Donald Trump Tops 30% in CNN/ORC poll - CNNPolitics.com

Donald Trump has become the first Republican presidential candidate to top 30% support in the race for the Republican nomination, according to a new CNN/ORC Poll, which finds the businessman pulling well away from the rest of the GOP field.

Trump gained 8 points since August to land at 32% support, and has nearly tripled his support since just after he launched his campaign in June. The new poll finds former neurosurgeon Ben Carson rising 10 points to land in second place with 19%. Together, these two non-politicians now hold the support of a majority of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, and separately, both are significantly ahead of all other competitors.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush stands in third place with 9%, down 4 points since August, and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz holds fourth place with 7%. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker follow at 5%, with all other candidates at 3% or less, including Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who notched the only other statistically significant shift in the poll by falling 5 points since August.

Added Larry Lessig, a Harvard law professor, to the the Dem's list on the OP.
Interesting strategy. He is running as a single issue candidate - getting the crazy money out of elections and politics; and promises to resign after accomplishing the task. He raised over $1 million in a short period which was his criteria to enter the race.
It is interesting, though completely unrealistic, to run on a single issue - no matter what it is. Running a country requires focus and education in many areas, even if you have the best people there to do the work. I give him 0.0000001% of winning a single state. But if he advances the topic to the top and something happens, he will have succeeded, imo.

Clinton's lead over Sanders shrinks as her edge over GOP vanishes - CNNPolitics.com

By Jennifer Agiesta, CNN Polling Director
Updated 9:45 AM ET, Fri September 11, 2015

Washington (CNN)Hillary Clinton's lead in the race for the Democratic nomination has fallen to just 10 points, and at the same time, her advantage in hypothetical general election matchups against the top Republican contenders has vanished, a new CNN/ORC poll has found.

The new poll finds Clinton with 37% support among Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters, down 10 points since August, followed by Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders at 27% and Vice President Joe Biden at 20%. Sanders' support is about the same as it was in August, making Biden the only candidate to post significant gains in the last month. His support is up 6 points in the last month as he weighs making a run for the presidency.

Behind the top three, former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley holds 3%, former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb is at 2% and former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee logs less than 1% support.

In the general election matchups, Clinton trails former neurosurgeon Ben Carson by a significant margin (51% Carson to 46% Clinton among registered voters) while running about evenly with both former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (49% Bush to 47% Clinton) and businessman Donald Trump (48% back each).

So after his appearance on Colbert's show yesterday, I take it Dems will no longer view Biden as a viable candidate?

I mean really, a candidate talking about his religious faith like that? And chanting incantations and worships to invisible cloud dwelling beings (the rosary)? Obviously a total religious zealot!

Lots of progressive/democratic folks are very religious. Legislating your religion and limiting others' rights is the issue.
