I was so wrong about this dude. I thought he was on track to be something really, really good. I thought he was gonna be a star. Then he pissed it away.

Count me in this camp. I never bought into the Bryant hype, nor was I a big Golson fan during his time here. I felt pretty good about Daniels though after the way he performed in 2012 down the stretch and the flashes of brilliance in 2013 when he had his shit together. I thought maturity and a desire to perform well for NFL aspirations would force him to play at a high level in 2014, and then 2014 never happened, and he was gone. He and his father's BS definitely soured on me at the end, what a disappointment. I thought he had the potential to be one of the most dominant receivers we've had in the BK era, at least since Floyd, but TJ turned out to be a better receiver, student, ambassador, and NFL prospect than Daniels in the end.

I'm sure his father will take to Twitter blaming the system.

I wish Daniels was still on the team just so I could read his dads tweets during the game. That dude was golden whenever Tommy Reese was in the game.

....... whenever I hear about a player not "showing up" to practice hard every day, and not "attending to detail", I say: this is not a winner. We heard that several times about Daniels [and a few others in Coach Kelly's era.] Some of these guys grow up; too many don't. Almost always they are spectacular eye-test guys who don't think they have to put in the drudge work. [thankfully some eye-test guys like Jaylon DO want to be the best they can be and have the heart and the head to get there.]

That's why you get our degree. Packers really should get him in for a tryout, thought. I'd bet he makes a team still. I'll put vbucks on it.

I would say his Dad's connections with the Bears wouldn't hurt either. Bears are strapped for anytype of receivers.

I will bet you all of the little amount I have that he does NOT start the season on any 53-man roster.

I think you guys underestimate just how few spots there are in the NFL. I remember seeing people thinking Robbie Toma had a chance to make an NFL team a few years back...

I won't bet that he's signed by start of season, but I bet he gets signed at some point this year and finished the year, barring injury.

Actually WTH, I'll be that he signs by week 1. LMK what you want to bet!

Whoever told him to sign with a team not in desperate need for wr's, should be excommunicated from the circle of trust.

I only have one-hundred million. It's not much compared to your one trillion, but I'm willing to go all in!

Ya'll seem a little hard on Davaris, dont you think?

Yes and no. He squandered his opportunities at the college level. He had a great rapport with Golson and possibly could have done some great stuff with Fuller to stretch defenses with a long field last year. He was in no way ready for the NFL, but he declared anyway because he has a big head. He has no one to blame but himself with no degree and no career. The story is just kind of sad really.

I agree. No one really knows the whole story behind his debacle last year, no matter how many press conference questions BK answered or Twitter rants his Dad went on. Davaris wore the ND uniform and was a very solid player when doing so, I for one will be supporting him as I support guys like Golson and Lynch as well as the Teo's and Nix's

We're here to root Irish Football and the University that birthed it.

.Davaris was not of her. He tried... But not everyone meets her sweet siren call.

Too bad.

Good spot for him regardless of how people feel about the Patriots. Could realistically be a practice squad guy for one year and then replace Wayne next season and be the #4 WR in a good offense.

And Lafell is currently injured so there could be an opportunity early if he really impresses or there is an injury. WR depth is pretty low right now, but they also constantly only dress 3 WRs for games so who knows. Still a good spot for his development.

Wow, 3 days and he's already gone. What does he do now, try to get on with another team? Go back to school and try to finish his degree?

He was always going to get cut since it would be near impossible to make the 53-man roster on a contender in such a short period of time. Hopefully for his sake he impressed them enough where they want him on the practice squad....might be a lost season otherwise unfortunately.

I hope after GA III (Cut today also) and Daniels, some of these elitist, former NFL progeny realize that your name can only get you so far. Both kids had all the athleticism in the world, but they failed to do the little things right, to hone their craft, or apply themselves in the classroom. It's biting both of them in the butt today.
