Looking at all the cb's is Michigan really that big a player?

He does live less than an hour from their campus.

Which brings me to a question. Does anybody know if his folks are pretty well off? The reason I ask is that Orchard Lake Village is a really nice community. Per Wiki:

Orchard Lake Village is consistently ranked as the most affluent town in Michigan with a median household income of $153,289

I would think that could possibly help. With Notre Dame being a more high brow type of university. But I don't know. Just spitballin'...

I think it was Sampson who said it a while back that people around him think that he's a player that will end up at ND but he doesn't know it yet.

I think it was a multitude of events one of which was Sark. Town leaving USC. Parents being back in Michigan. He's always had a love for ND. And it sounds like he's a really bright kid.

I think the staff needs to sell him on either A. being the guy who replaces Jaylon or B. the guy who can start at DE next year right away.

Does he live in Orchard Lake or Ann Arbor? Skyline is in Ann Arbor.

But OLV is probably in the top 5 for richest suburbs of Detroit. It's beautiful. Lakes everywhere with mansions hugging them. Idk where he lives (if he does) but I have never seen a "bad-side" of OLV, if there is one.

have no idea where he lives. He goes to school in Ann Arbor though at Skyline.

Haven't really heard much about him in terms of Michigan. I just assume he'll be sticking to USC.

I was just going off of his profile on the first page, which states Orchard Lake. After looking into it, looks like they were just the flavor of the week.

A 6-foot-4, 225-pound linebacker, Hayes attended Orchard Lake St. Mary's for his first two years of high school, but played in only one varsity game and was injured in the opening game of his sophomore year.

Last summer he moved to California and played about half the season for Ventura St. Bonaventure before moving back to the Detroit area and enrolling at Cass Tech, where he was ineligible.

Now he is at Skyline

Pretty shocking that a kid that has attended four high schools hasn't flipped yet. lol

so he's attended 4 different high schools and played in about 6-7 varsity games in his entire HS career. Red flags. Think there's a high recruiting bust risk there.

Orchard Lake St. Mary's is an all boys boarding and day school. He might have been a boarder when he was there and his folks lived in AA. Perhaps they are back living there now. Sam Rogers, Morgan Trent, Rob Bolden, Dion Sims and Allen Robinson went there. It's a powerhouse in MI HS football.

Skyline is a relatively new school, it only opened in 2008.

I share that concern as well but Tuitt only played in 25 games for the Irish. We will worry about that road when we come to it.

Was kinda hoping to see more pass rushing skills out of him in the footage but he doesn't seem to really use any moves other than a bull rush

He looks like he needs to learn how to keep his motor revving high, he needs to be taught some true football moves but anytime he chose to truly rush or hit someone, they went backward or off their feet.

I'd take three of him if I could.

it easy to bull rush kids who aren't as strong or heavy as you. Dude has no business even trying to lock up with these kids. He seemed to be bull rushing the RT even when the play was going the other way. Might look and feel cool but its really an impactful play

Something to consider, he's spent most of his timeworking out as a more traditional LB. Therefore, hasn't focused a lot of attention on pass rushing moves, even though, now it seems like thats what he's destined to play at the next level. I sensed even last year when he started out in Cali that he was having some troubles learning how to play at this size. I still think he's a heck of a talent and just needs more proper coaching/training.

Also, a lot of those plays are running play at which point he isn't supposed to try and get passed the guy in front of him, he's supposed to set the edge and be prepared to shed the block and make the play. He did a good job of standing those guys up and not too many plays came to his side. You can even see on one of the times that he beat the guy and they ran to his side, he over ran the play, which is precisely what you don't want to happen.
