Yup, gonna need a monumental effort from the defense and Solo to win this one. Germany showed against France that they are beatable, but for the US being in the "group of death", they have had quite an easy path.

Legitimately excited for this game tonight. I like Holliday's game, but if she doesn't sit deep (not her fault necessarily...she's not a #6 and her game doesn't really suit that position) and let Lloyd push forward uninhibited, then Jill needs to sit her and play last week's defensive midfielder.

I'm not a big Amy Rodriguez fan, but she did cause havoc with her pace and energy vs. China (aside from that awful shank). I prefer they start Sidney or Press, on the condition they work as hard as Rodriguez did at pressing zee Germans. They both have a much more complete game than Rodriguez.

I think she's played horrendously all tournament and shouldn't be playing, period. She creates an opportunity and then 100% of the time takes one touch too many or otherwise makes a bad play to end the threat... haven't seen her set up a single good scoring chance despite many opportunities to do so.

I think this is way overly harsh, especially considering she has hardly played since the first game (I'll note I missed a large portion of the second game only, so maybe I missed something there) also, you could make the general, 'too many touches and hasn't been able to finish/make the final ball to setup' point about pretty much anyone who has played in favor of her... honestly, you could say it about most of the team in this tournament.
