Maybe scariest game on the schedule.

If we don't get better at stopping the Option we will take an L.

We will kill them. 5 quality line backers, four talented safeties, three quick defensive ends, 2 shut down corners and a partridge in a pear tree. They won't get a first down.

Dunno. While the transitive property doesn't apply to football, Georgia Tech did a pretty good job handling a decent Georgia team this season. They went toe to toe with FSU as we did, and their only other losses were close ones to North Carolina and Duke. The Yellowjackets weren't too shabby this year, I wouldn't say we're going to kill them.

We'll be facing a Paul Johnson offense twice this season. My hope is that the staff will be able to dedicate more resources to preparing for and stopping it than they do in a typical year, where we only face it once.

GT is losing A LOT in the backfield this year. Days, Laskey, Hill, etc. Not to mention their best offensive lineman Mason is gone too. Johnson will have some rebuilding to do this offseason.

Honestly, my hope is that everyone stays healthy. Good news is that GT has a harder time getting away with cut blocks than Navy would since they're much bigger up front than Navy. This should be a blowout if ND beats GT at their own game, and Zaire and co. ram the ball down their throats.

The hope being that the lads stay on the nice rather than the naughty side of the list.

As well as on the healthy rather than the injured side of that list.

They are losing Perkins, Hill, and Days...not to mention, each of their back-ups are Seniors as well. Mason along with the backfield is key to that option.

Looks like Shayne Skov's brother is transferring to GT. I'm not sure what GT's backfield situation is, but this can only help them and they're confounded triple option.

We better buckle our chinstraps for this one. Their backs are running HARD.

Harrell had 16.5 tackles last year with no Sacks, TFLs, or Ints.

According to SBNation UF LB corps is thin and Hareell could see some PT.

Don't they still have that Alazone guy from PA? He was supposed to be really good. Or at least I heard from a certain message board. :)

The key to that offense has been and always will be the QB and Justin Thomas is the best option QB Paul Johnson has had. The OL will be strong with 4 of the 5 starters being JR.'s or SR.'s. Johnson always has a stockpile of A-Backs who are small, quick and fast. Snoddy and Willis will be very good backs. To me the biggest losses on offense were those two big wideouts Smelter and Waller. Big playmakers downfield and excellent blockers. Their replacements are not nearly the same size and inexperienced.

I'm thinking the key to the game is for ND to run the ball and control the clock. Keep the defense fresh. Key is to take an early lead and take the air out of the ball. This can be done with the dominant offensive line and 3 Explosive running backs. It's on you Kelly.

you could argue that the best way to beat GT is to get ahead early with some big plays and then try and hold the lead. you don't want GT to get out early and then control the clock on you.

Love this post!

Alex is a back-up junior. Florida had high hopes of landing Tevon Coney, who would have surely passed him on the depth chart.

If Thomas gets the corner on you, he will be gone. Fastest player I ever seen on a football field coming out of high school. In the end, however, the Irish get it done against Thomas and crew.

In case anyone felt like getting more nervous for this game. Navy on steroids.

It's Navy with much better athletes. We've struggled with Navy as of late, this is one I have circled as a game we will probably lose.
