"Blue Ruin." Really good movie. It's an unusual sort of revenge flick, very understated with a main character who manages to be passive and unimposing but is capable of decisive violence. If you like Coen Brothers type filmmaking, this film should be up your alley.

The Judge with Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall. Pretty good with a number of serious scenes and humorous ones. Downey is becoming one of my favorite actors.

Fallen Fallen (1998 film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

How this only made 25 million at the box. Beyond me..

Great thinker's movie.

It's one of those movies I always seem to flip on once or twice a year when it see it playing on the premium channels.

Loved RDj since Less Than Zero. Watched The Judge last week. Good stuff and great cast.

I agree on all points! Just saw it, too, and I can't decide if it is a truly great movie, truly great story, or just speaks to truth in life.

Also, I saw SPY this weekend and laughed my ass off. It is a Melissa McCarthy vehicle, but the supporting cast is out of this world. For a movie that works off the Bond premise, they kept it fresh, and up to date, and McCarthy did the rest!

It was pretty good I thought. But Pratt is signed on for 2 more movies. Which too me is 2 more movies too much. Shit is getting stale.

Hollywood's issue is the constant rehash of old content. People, for the most part, are not idiots. You can only take a certain amount of things before you start vomitting. But they'll keep on blaming piracy for their lack of interest.

I think it was a great movie, but probably a little more great story. I liked the scene where he's in the car with his HS girlfriend and her daughter and the daughter just keeps smiling at him.

Have you two met before?

Not a movie, I know, but I just started watching "Amazing Stories" on Netflix. I remember watching the show as a kid. It's like a more whimsical "Twilight Zone." Steven Spielberg produced the show, and directed a few episodes. There's some 80s cheese on some of them, but they are good entertainment. "The Mission" is a great episode.

I remember that series. Wasn't Mark Hamill in some of them?

Just saw Jurassic World. Comically horrible and nonsensical. One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Just a lot of really dumb stuff but the slo-mo raptor at the end made me LOL in the theater. I couldn't quit laughing. Terribad.

I don't want to spoil it for anyone interested. Google Jurassic World is a bad movie and read some of the negative articles. I don't agree w/everything said, but man, a lot of that is right, IMO.

Took my 7 year old son to see it, was exactly like I expected. Don't disagree with your critique of the movie, I guess my expectations were lower than yours. My son liked it at least.

Has your daughter ever disliked any movie she's ever seen? I'm convinced you could show my kids anything and they'd give it two thumbs up. I guess that's why shitty movies like Jurrasic World make millions.

Couldnt agree more. I'm usually a big Chris Pratt fan but even he was awful in Jurassic World.

No, she has no taste whatsoever. She'll watch anything geared toward kids and love it. Which, that's why I didn't hate that we saw JW today. She loved it and my wife and I got a laugh over how bad it was. $18 well (enough) spent.

Saw Jurassic World today. Holy shit what a clusterfuck of a movie. The whole movie was schlock but the ending especially was cringeworthy.

I honestly felt bad for him. You can't deliver lines like "it will kill anything that moves" without sounding like a tool.

Not sure what you guys were expecting from Jurassic World. It's a movie about dinosaurs killing people. That's exactly what happened in the movie.

So is Jurassic Park. One of these movies is great, the other is schlock.

Not a movie, but watching the last 2 episodes of Rectify (Sundance) from last season. Season 3 starts July 9. Such a great show. Beautifully directed and acted.

Probably. I'm only a few episodes in. The show featured plenty of name actors of the time; both established and up-and-comers. Not to mention the behind the camera talent. Bard Bird (directed "The Incredibles") is in there as a writer on some episodes.

2015 has given us a new Jurassic Park, Terminator, Star Wars, and Mad Max. All of them are planned to be trilogies too. It's really unreal how much recycling there is these days.

Mad Max is the perfect type of movie to be remade. The original trilogy is decades old and was relatively low budget. They really did a fantastic job with that. The Star Trek movies are another example of how good a remake can be. Tron was a good remake. etc. etc. Again, original is decades old and was relatively low budget.

I realize Terminator 3 and 4 weren't very good but Terminator 2 was one of the best movies ever. So I think it just really comes down to how original the sequel is. Jurassic World wasn't very original, which is why it wasn't very good. Star Wars has the potential to be extremely original and awesome because the focus will be on new characters and it's a true sequel rather than a remake.

Just saw Jurassic World. I had low expectations going into it, but it really, really sucked. Terrible acting, terrible characters, terrible story, terrible special effects (the dinosaurs looked so much better in the original), science was nonexistent.

For me, the cool thing about the original Jurassic Park is that they were up on the latest scientific evidence at the time and for the most part brought what we knew of dinosaurs back to life: looks and behavior. This was just a dumb monster movie and it would fit right in on the scifi channel. Maybe my screen name gives away my interests, but for what I want a Jurassic Park movie to be, Jurassic World is a 1/10/

I think it would be very cool to have a new release the original Jurassic Park (perhaps straight to vhs) with updated dinosaurs. Surely some special effects whizes could do this.

Oh! and they reused scenes, but did them worse. Perhaps to pay homage to the original?

Goin to see it tonight.

Also saw jurassic world last night, and some of you had crazy expectations. It certainly was no Godfather but come on that was a fun summer movie. It was absurd, but it was enjoyable.

Saw it today with my 3 kids. Kinda sucked personally, usually those movies are pretty good.
