Probably right about EEing, but I wonder if the noise about Winston considering possibly sticking around another year would bother him. Not sure on what the expectation was for him to possibly get on the field next year, so maybe it wouldn't matter at all. I also doubt there is any real chance he'd not go to the draft (would be insane for about five reasons), but just curious if the noise would startle Henry.

I know it probably just slipped your mind but Henry is a 2016 recruit so Winston would have to stay 2 more years for him and Henry to be on the team together.

We have our QB. No need to wonder if he's opening back up and we have a shot.

We don't have a '16 QB. There are others I like more than Henry but I'd take him as our '16 QB. Can never have too many good quarterbacks.

Transferring to IMG in Florida to get out of KJ Costello's shadow, to work with Weinke and be close to Fisher's bag man... who's bored now that Crabnapper is stalking shell fish in Indy ahead of the combine.

Some italics required.

You'll be happy to know that Costello and our new OC have a pretty good relationship. As I mentioned in his thread it wouldn't surprise me to see him get an offer soon.

I bet you Costello commits to Michigan soon. Just gut feeling.

What's the deal with IMG Academy? That's obviously not a place where kids come to play school and it is owned and operated by a marketing company, so how is it on the up and up?

Pretty much operates like any other prep school, but with a more overt emphasis on recruited athletes for sports. It's certainly more on the up-and-up than Eastern Christian Academy.

I don't think KJ is right for ND as much as it pains me to say that. He fits more into the Stanford / SC QB mold. He doesn't have the run game that a Zaire, Boykin or Barrett does and that is what is going to make BK's offense finally reach overdrive.

I bet you Costello commits to Michigan soon. Just gut feeling.

If it's not Stanford or SC, that would be my next pick. He's better than anybody he will join at those two schools. Also, I think he is from an SC / Stanford household.

Ah Eastern Christian aka USC's highschool. Are kids overrated at IMG?

I just looked at his Twitter account. Michigan is on a full frontal assault. You may be right. I hope he does go there. I don't wanna see him every year. Dude's scary good.

sorry to bump this thread fellas, but does anyone really know why the staff cooled on this kid? I understand they want Pass, but thats not looking to likely. Was it him? or was it ND. Didn't know if he got worried with Wimbush on board.

Brandon Wimbush happend

I sincerely doubt this is what caused him to choose FSU - unless you're saying we cooled on him because we picked up Wimbush. FSU added two 4 star QBs last cycle including Deondre Francois - who we can all agree is an absolute stud. He's not scared of competition. ND is also still actively recruiting QBs, not sure why ND would have cooled on their top guy at the position so early in the process.

We were desperate prior to wimbush so the staff didn't want to settle and went full out for Henry...once wimbush t got on board the staff didn't cool on him in the sense of not wanting him, but didn't keep the ramped up contact with Henry as we had more options t and didn't want to devote so much efforts for someone at the time 2years away from setting foot on campus

If the staff cooled on Henry just because of Wimbush that's a damnable offense. I don't care who's on the roster if you have a spot for a QB and an elite prospects shows legit interest you don't just cool on them.

It went both ways. We were a much more attractive option to Henry without Wimbush and the QB picture looked very wide open for a 2016 kid coming in. We were telling 2016 prospects that we weren't going after 15' QB's because in reality we weren't really recruiting that many or any besides Wimbush. There was a fairly long feeling out period between the two parties (Wimbush/ND) behind the scenes and ND wasn't going to jeopardize getting Henry just because they may get Wimbush, just like they weren't going to not take Wimbush because they expected Henry. Once the realization came that Wimbush was coming to ND, it was a pretty mutual split.

True. If you're playing a video game. In real life, especially at QB, recruitment are all relative to one another. Also don't forget there could be a desire to change the type of QB they might prefer for 2016 after Wimbush committed. If they signed a more pro-style 3 star in 2015, just to take a guy, then maybe they still are all-in on Henry.
