TV continues to show the Ga State father-son thing. Great TV, but truly sucks IMO for the rest of the guys on the team. They've been totally lost. I also like the coach telling the kids"this is the best week of MY life". Ha! I find that humorous.

We are sitting at 4-0 against the Sweet 16 field. Soon to be 6-1 after Duke wins, and will bump to 7-1 if Louisville is able to pull off a win later. Only two of those games were at the Joyce Center

But...but...bpi

I agree it seemed off putting to make it solely about yourself and son, alienating the rest of your team, but the guy was clearly wrapped up in the moment, and was acting on genuine emotion. I liked it personally. Much better than Boeheim or Coach K's contrived BS.

It'd really be the best way to go out, if you're gonna go out. We could lose by 30 and I wouldn't even care... and if we won it'd be an all-time memorable event.

The only way I could see ND beating Kentucky is if their drive and kick offense is working to perfection

Or if you think he was saying that everything that happened this week, seeing the team win their tournament to that day and the way they hung around against a superior team. In that case, it could be the week of his life because he saw so much growth from his team, not just his son.

I personally think that is what he meant. If you saw the portion they showed today of how he said he was so proud of his team and how the showed the city of ATL and the nation what GSU was all about it, I think that is more in line with what he said.

Exactly.

I truly want to see if ND could do it. That's all and if not, then you lost to arguably the best team since the UNLV squad of the early '90s.

But, if you did pull it off...UCLA all over agin.

The best team seldom wins the tourney, and a lot of luck is needed to win 6 straight do or die games. I wouldn't complain if the next two games were against Wichita State and WVU-Maryland.

Coach Hunter coached at IUPUI for a number of years before heading to GSU. Whenever the media covered IUPUI, he always seemed very personal and honest with his emotions.

Wichita State is pretty damn good. Should be a good matchup.

WVU looked impressive tonight. They go 12 players deep and Huggins is 8-2 lifetime against Calipari. Should be a good one after our game.

The ACC might be decent at this basketball thing.

You actually thought that Izzo would get beat this early in the NCCA Men's Tounament?

Weren't we 25-1 before the tourney started? How do our odds get worse for making the Sweet 16?

A couple of thoughts as to maybe why:
1. We were originally considered a better pick than Kansas. I don't think people thought Wichita State would look so good last weekend. They have better odds than us now and that likely lessens our odds greatly
2. We didn't "look" that great to some probably, even though I loved the two wins.
3. Some of your chances are boosted probably by how many rounds are between you and UK, thinking the more rounds the more likely that someone else beats them before they beat you. Winning, and having UK still in moving closer to you, may not mean your odds get any better. That being said, I can't imagine they thought Cincy or Purdue had a snowballs chance

Here's a re-seeding article that isn't ridiculous ESPN drivel:
Reseeding the Sweet 16: Duke, Zona, Wisconsin, Zaga on UK's heels - CBSSports.com

So we own UNC but they get seeded ahead of us? It really is impossible for people to give teams any credit for playing as an actual team instead of salivating over the athleticism of the individual parts.

Other than that, much better piece than the ESPN tripe. They all give way too much credit to #1s for beating up on 16 seeds.

ND got stuck with a much tougher draw than anyone realizes, but I think the fact that the #1s did not struggle in their games is the reason they are getting so much love.

The #1s that survived, that is.

ND did what was necessary to get to Sweet 16...they survived and advanced. If they play like they did in their first two games, they will get beaten easily by Wichita St. They're due for a breakout game so I'm hoping for the best. If not, it's still been an awesome year.
