No, they cannot live in the same neighborhood, Homestead and Wayne are completely different school districts. Wayne is part of FWCS, while Homestead is in Southwest Allen. That doesn't mean that they don't hang out or don't know who one another is.

I looked at the map. The Homestead and Wayne districts are adjoining just as I thought. It doesn't matter if those schools are in different school systems. If the players lived at the border a block apart, they could live in the same neighborhood and go to different schools. Mack obviously could live anywhere as he goes to a Luers.

I didn't say they did live in the same neighborhood. I just said they might.

The borders to the two districts are not very well populated. I guarantee that Swanigan doesn't live anywhere close to the border. He's living with his guardian, sports agent Roosevelt Barns, which I'm sure is much closer to Homestead HS than it is to the border as that is where the pricier houses are located in the district.

I had never heard of this kid and know nothing about him, but a HS athlete living with an agent seems super skeevy.

As for Robertson hopefully now that Narduzzi is gone and Harbaugh should have UM on the rise MSU will fall off. We are definitely going to have to battle UM and OSU for midwest kids would be nice if we didn't have to worry about MSU as well.

I don't know what the area around the airport is like now a days in regards to development . That's why I said "might".

I never knew Swanigan was living with Roosevelt Barnes. I knew he had a guardian and had toyed with the thought of moving out west for his senior year. Just didn't know it was Barnes... but it makes sense as Barnes and his mentor, Eugene Parker are both from Fort Wayne. My teammate in college was with Parker and Barnes when he got started. Parker was actually a GA at Valpo after he got done playing at Purdue. Got his law degree and left coaching.

I hope being that they are both from Fort Wayne and former Boilers, they will guide Swanigan to Purdue. It's tough watching Indiana kids leave for Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky...and now Illinois with Jalen Coleman.

The key to Auston's visit is Jaylon Smith, if that happens, then I see the cards falling into ND's hands.

Huh? If what happens?

Austin needs to meet with Jaylon? Needs to re-engage with him? Not intentionally obtuse, I don't understand what Jaylon will do to pull A. Mack to South Bend.

Not that it matters in this case but he's talking about Auston Robertson, not Austin Mack. Regardless of which one, what he's saying about Jaylon is true. Jaylon is currently the Godfather of Fort Wayne football. Of course he will have a lot of juice with those two. In fact, I'd say Jaylon is the single most powerful recruiter in regards to those two over ANY coach at ND, OSU or MSU. That's why I was wondering about their potential relationship with Swanigan who while Jaylon is in South Bend, is the biggest sports star in FW.

Thanks for the explanation and correction (my mistake on thinking this was Mack's thread). I didn't realize they are from the same area, let's hope Jaylon has the charisma and they have the clarity to see what's best for their future.

I do not know Jaylon personally but being from Fort Wayne, I followed his recruitment closer then most as well as Austin Mack and Auston Robertson.

My impression of Jaylon is that he is certainly doing his part to tell Mack and Robertson all the good things about ND and why he chose the Irish, but he will not put a lot of pressure or hit them up constantly about continuing the Fort Wayne pipeline. Jaylon probably had more pressure on him to choose pOSU but he chose the path less traveled. Because of that, I believe Jaylon has a unique understanding of why each person needs to make a choice that is best for them and an appreciation of not being pressured to go to a certain school because people around them want them to.

That isn't a blessing. It is more like an invitation to join an STD laden orgy in Gomorrah.

That's some pretty hefty praise from coach. Honestly, I prefer Kareem to him, but I'll be damned if I didn't want this kid too.

It seems like OSU is no longer in the picture for Auston Robertson it's a MSU/ND battle from what reports say. Also it seems like Mack and Auston would like to play together in college, MSU isn't really that high on Mack's list, so this could get interesting. I think Jaylon being at ND and selling these guys how much ND can change you as a person and make you better in life down the road will help lure these two to ND, also the fact that it's only about an 1.5 hours if that away from home.

Plus, I mean, you and I are ND fans. It's literally the complete package for these 2.

A WR tandem of Corley and Mack, as well as Robertson, Kareem and *insert other killer DE here*. Talk about an insane class.

Hope he's right. As of a day or two ago Wiltfong still had him leaning to MSU.

Correct, I feel better about our chances after Junior Day but I agree that we still trail. Just thought I'd post someone else's opinion. I think Hemboldt does a decent job but he's not as plugged in as Wiltfong is.

With the amount of underclassmen we have at the position, I could see it being a challenge to persuade an elite DE looking for early playing time to come to ND. That being said, this situation happens all the time and ND has so much more to offer other than football that good kids decide to come to South Bend regardless of log jams at their position. Hopefully we get this kid.

This is one reason why I think Robertson is the perfect fit. 5 star upside based off his size and explosiveness but still very raw and he knows it. He's very aware that he needs to be coached up at the position and thats what has MSU standing out. Hopefully Gilmore and company can convince him otherwise.

Hmmm. Good point. I never thought of it that way.

Hopefully Robertson can make it to this summer's Irish Invasion (along with Mack) and also an OV for a game.
