I went to Disneyworld and got on the cover of Sport Magazine when I was 8 and playing for the Oakland A's (at least thats the uniform I was wearing. I was a huge McGwire/Canseco fan).

The trick to "recruiting edits/graphics" are to make the kid think.

I do not think most schools do a good enough job of that including Notre Dame until recently. I wouldn't put the ESPN cover in that, but several recruits have mentioned the "#4For40" pics that the coaches are sending them.

You can spend a lot of time making cool graphics/edits to make the kid excited for 2 secs when he sees it.

BUT, you can also make them excited for 2 secs and then hit them with a deeper meaning that they will take to heart and then when their parents see it, that can make an impression as well.

It's just all in the plan of attack and you want to be different. Notre Dame hasn't quite hit the different part, but they are getting there. I like where they are going with their Social Media and marketing for recruits.

In a separate incident, wide receiver Traveon Samuel was pulled over by Kentucky State Police and cited after officers said he was speeding down Interstate 65 in Bullitt County last month.

Officers said Samuel was driving faster than 100 MP on Jan. 6.


Back in 71 or 72, I was pulled over for doing 113 in a 70. State Trooper ha me get out of the car and started with , "WTF are you trying to do, kill someone?' Sheepishly I said, "No sir". "Well you're doing a pretty f2cking good job of trying.". He throw out a few more F bombs, then let me go with a verbal warning. Evidently he had something urgent he needed to get to and didn't have time to write the ticket. I still remember that incident like it was yesterday. Never drove like that again.

They reduced the speed limit to 55 after the oil embargo. So before 74/75 it was 70 or unlimited (I believe) in some places out west.

ND will never get the true top athletes because face it, most top athletes just arent blessed with the intelligence to pass admission at ND or the desire to do it. Media bias constantly against ND. National fan based that wont accept anything but championships when the hand dealt wont allow it.

Already a 5th year senior and can’t see the field on a bad Louisville team. Had one season of extended playing time where he had an 8/12 TD/INT ratio. Completion percentage in the mid 50% and doesn’t run well.
