dude has very little left in the tank one would think? i'd take reggie wayne over him still.

Huge Colts and Reggie fan, but he's done. Watched every game this year and it became painfully obvious his time has come to hang it up. I think Johnson has a couple of more solid years left. Now teams won't be able to double TY. TY and Johnson on the field together will be like Wayne and Harrison. Pick your poison.

Word is Gore and Johnson wanted to play with Luck. With the QB's Johnson played with in Houston and coming to Indy, he'll think he went from a 56kb dial-up to cable modem.

Grigson has done a great job with FA this year. The guys he's signed are proven performers and aren't long term commitments or big cap hits. If they don't work out move on to the next guy.

Just read that the Browns offered Philly a first rounder for Bradford. Lol. Where is Acamp?

Jabal Sheard to the Pats. 2 years 11M, 5M guaranteed.

So excited with this signing. The Front 7 is looking very, very stacked right now.

Sheard, Chandler Jones, Ninkovich, Jamie Collins, Hightower, Mayo....Easley will be 100% this season, then the usual suspects at DT. Hopefully we can add someone like Wilfork or Fairley.

Johnson instantly moves to a top 5 fantasy WR pick next year. He also makes TY that much better. Only downside is Luck will spread it around but that is largely b/c he HAD to spread it around without any true #1 options on the field.

Not sure how good of a receiving and pass blocking RB Gore is. He strikes me as more of a pounder than a slashy runner. That is were Richardson sucked so Bradshaw and then Herron took big time reps from him. Fantasy value of non-Richardson RBs were all about receiving. If you aren't pass blocking you aren't going to be in there to take the check down dump pass. I need more data on Gore before I get excited about his place in the Colts offense.

More importantly, Bears look like they are hitching their wagon to Jay Cutler. Cue the clip from Christmas Vacation where Clark G goes off on his Jelly of the Month Club gift.

All kidding aside, I have been pretty happy with the FA signings so far for the Bears. Antrel Rolle, Eddie Royal and Pernell Mcphee. If they added Terrance Knighton and/or Greg Hardy I would be pretty happy. Especially if they had a decent draft for once.

I would rather they add Hardy and then take a top notch DT at the 7 spot.

Yeah, I was more speaking to what they bring on field only.

However, Hardy was acquitted of all that right? So who knows, could lead to someone getting a steal on him.

John Fox drafted Hardy and knows him well. I think it would be an excellent opportunity to get a very talented pass rusher on the cheap. I would have zero issues with grabbing him.

We drafted two DT's last year (Furgeson and Sutton), so I am not really keen on grabbing a third young DT for this defense. I would rather grab a proven commodity in Knighton and draft a stud safety or OLB/Hybrid.

My dream is still that they draft Collins. However, with Rolle signing that locks up the SS position. I also don't see them taking him at 7 though. Do they trade back a couple spots?

Or I suppose they could take Cooper if he was still there. I personally dont think Jeffrey is a true #1. and Royal is strictly slot/return.

However, like you, I like what they have done so far.

Yes. Landon Collins, please (unless Leonard Williams somehow falls).

An interesting question, though, what if Mariota falls to them?

Landon Collins is a tough one. I really like him as a football player but I'm not sure he has the speed/coverage skills to be an elite safety. If I'm dropping a top ten pick on a safety, he has to have elite coverage skills.

I would not take Mariota. If he's available at #7, they need to burn up the phone lines, trade down, load up on picks and stock this team with young talent.

I honestly don't want them using their #7 pick. Any way you slice it, there will be someone available at that spot that other teams will want to trade up for. Guys like Williams, Mariota, Beasley and Amari Cooper could all be available at that pick. None of which I want the Bears to pick if someone is offering a trade.

I agree with you with the exception of Williams. I think he could be an anchor for their 3-4.

I haven't been paying attention to the draft over the last ten days or so, but do people now believe Mariota may actually fall out of the top five?? Surely not.

I don't think so either, but weirder things have happened.

Yeah, I think it's exceedingly remote but there is a not-completely-ridiculous possibility that Tampa takes Winston, Tennessee (Mettenberger), Jacksonville (Bortles), Oakland (Carr), and Washington (Griffin) decide not to draft a QB this high, and the Jets prefer to address other holes and wait on someone like Hundley since they have a place holder in Fitzpatrick.

NFL Draft - 2015 NFL Draft Prospects - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com

WOW is the QB class horribly shallow! Should be a run on Hundley and Petty.

Bears FA picks have been fantastic so far. Great point on last year's DT haul. I see some commentary out there that they are "undersized" for 3-4 DT needed though.

Every year I think they should trade down and they never do. As much as they need D linemen, I think some elite talent at OL would do them wonders. I like Tomlinson out of Duke, if he slides to the third round I think they would be wise to grab him. Better yet, trading down in first round to get an extra second round he would be worth a late 2nd round pick.

I'm not enamored with the first round DEs, would rather take some later in the draft and get more reliable picks in other positions. I think All Pro caliber for first and second round selections. I would rather have an All Pro OG than a decent DE.

This would mean no one is willing to pay up to trade up either. Bears (Cutler) would have to be tempted (Washington too given RGIIIs injury history). Get a year to groom him and go from there. Potential franchise QB in a QB light year dropping that far is hard to fathom, someone would have to trade up at that point.

DeMarco Murray to the Eagles a done deal per Schefter.

From ESPN,

"It was never about the money in any situation," Murray texted ESPN.com's Todd Archer. "If it was the money I could've taken that a long time ago on a very high deal. It's about winning a Super Bowl and being fair."

Murray is expected to sign a five-year, $42 million deal, including $21 million guaranteed, with the Eagles, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen.

Of the $21 million, $18 million is guaranteed for skill and injury.

I find these slightly contradictory as that would make it seem that he thought "fair" was more money. Meaning some of this was about the money. Kudos eagles fans!

Curious to hear thoughts on Foles/McCoy versus Bradford/Murray?
