Per Anna, ND just reached out to him (Dave Peloquin), saying he liked his tape and was going to sit down to watch it with BK. He has one official left, and sounds like he would be interested in using it at ND if we are seriously interested.

Watch his senior highlights. I honestly might like this kid more than Farrar.

Wow you're right actually like this kid a lot if we miss on Reid. Big kid that looks legit 6'2". Not afraid to lay the wood but needs to learn to rap up better. Great agility with good not great top end speed. Also his ball skills are outstanding. Big upside here.

Completely agree. I have visions of a poor man's Kam Chancellor running through my head....

What Ironman said.

If you watch his tape, he's every bit as intereting as Farrar.

McKinley Whitfield Senior Year - Mckinley Whitfield highlights

He's tall, pretty fast, and likes to mix it up.

I was actually pretty impressed with his film. He's not a burner, but he is big and aggressive. Seems to be pretty versatile as well. If we have to grab a late 3* to fill a void at the end of the cycle, at least this kid has size and a pretty good skill set.

Hey why not?!? He's 6'2. He could be a hell of a ball-hawk. He doesn't take the best angles in the world but that can all be fixed with development at the next level.

His competition looks bad, but he owns it like a d-1 porspect should. He makes a lot happen.

I agree. I'd go a step farther and state that while I am great with Farrar, he doesn't separate himself out from these other kids on film. It's nice to get 4-stars, but I'm not sure it matters too much in this case.

I like him and he is most likely a 3 star because he is from Oklahoma and was probably hard to find. On that note he seems pretty fast legitimately at least 6'2 to 6'3. He runs like a safety and hits like a mack truck. He could easily play at least 215. His tape is really impressive.

My quick analysis -

He runs funny and is really tall. I like safeties that have played QB. They understand the whole field.

Would be one hell of a plan T or whatever we're at now at safety.

Why not take both Reid and Whitfield?

I'd love that. Just don't know if we have room for 4. If we do, IMO ending with those 2 and ESB + Dexter is a grand slam finish considering how we are scrambling for safeties.

I'd consider it if Reid wanted to jump on late, and one of the other kids wanted to jump on early.

As far as I can tell, assuming ESB, Dexter Williams, Ishaq Williams, Golson, Martin, Schmidt, and Farley, you have one spot left between a recruit/Hegarty/Carlisle/Grace.

Take it easy Carlton.

Haha, On a serious note. At first glance, you think. "Low 3*, what is this coming to" Than you take take a look at his film, and he really opens your eyes. Athletic, lays people out. Long Atheistic, whats not to like.

So an update is that Loy and Wiltfong believe this interest is being drummed up and that he is still planning on visiting Minnesota next weekend. They said that Notre Dame is still evaluating prospects but not to take this too seriously.

I'm sort of dissapointed becauseI really enjoy this kids film.

I can just imagine Kelly and Elliot hurled around a computer screen scrolling down 247 composite rankings for safetys saying "How bout him, he's not committed anywhere, better call him"

Kid would really benefit from a weight program. Probably could play a couple of different positions. Great project, if you have the luxury.

I know he is unlikely, but if we go 4, who do we lose?
