I think he'll be a "FORCE" too, lol. Because of the qualities you list. I've never seen a defense collapse as bad after losing a player.

His absence had a very noticeable impact, wasn't good at all. Night and day with or without him on the field.

Won't argue with you guys 'cause I hope that he is. It would be the perfect end to his fairytale Notre Dame career.

What I'm gathering is we could potentially have 20 of 22 starters staying? With Riggs and Lombard being the goners?

Schmidt, Farley, Day, Golson, and Martin are the 5 we absolutely have to bring back in my opinion. I will be uncomfortable if we go into next season with only 2 non-1st year QBs, like this year.

Taj Boyd never got benched, correct? Second of all, he's not leaving. In my opinion, he will be the starter next year.

What does that have to do with anything? Im sure Taj Boyd never had a QB behind him as good as MZ. Physically they are similar, both are smaller athletic QBs. EG is a way better passer though. Boyd was described as undraftable by multiple sources going into the draft because of his horrible mechanics and arm strength.

So yeah EG could be Boyd 2.0

I've asked this in several threads but if we bring back five guys doesn't that mean we have Zero slots for any additional recruits?

He is not Mike Singletary but after watching our other options, he's more than welcome on ND's 2015 football team.

Agreed with the skeptics on Daniels. He's a luxury at this point and may not be worth it.
Carlisle may depend on if we land another RB we think can contribute right away. If not, we'll be mighty thin there and he'd be nice insurance.
Schmidt, Martin, Golson (if he wants to) Ishaq and Farley (is he a 5Y?) are the only must-have 5Ys in my book.

It's a link to a Notre Dame Football recruiting site. It appears there is some info on possible 5th year players for 2015 but one must be a member to access the whole story. That's all I got out of it.

Hey man, shouldn't you be eating some glorious foofy southern dish instead of giving me hell today :)

As dumb as their front office is, I could see Golson going to the Browns, in the second round!!

Dan Snyer wears Bad Idea Jeans and would trade up or give multiple picks to get Golson.

Actually, if he sends the owner the right text, he could go in the first round.

Co-worker said Miles since he is 'flaky' anyway!!!

OFD's 2015 roster projections can be found here:

Notre Dame should be able to fit 3 more players into the 2015 class without a problem. There's not exactly a ton of room mind you, but the numbers game has eased up a bit as it always does the closer we get to National Signing Day, and especially since our last update.

However, we are still working under the assumption that several current/former starters will not be coming back for a fifth year which is significant. We've been saying for months that these difficult decisions would have to be made and as things stand right that hasn't changed.

If we see Stanley go pro, Baratti's career is over, and there's a transfer or two then some breathing room opens up for someone like Amir Carlisle
