USC was first to let know of the decommittment. I still say it is a coin flip though. Only thing that worries me is that if Buck Allen leaves, he will get significant playing time, and Sark wants to establish the run, unlike BK.

Really? Numbers don't support you. USC averaged only 4 more rushes per game than ND and ND's average per run was higher than SC.

Are you including Golson's runs in that number? Golson had a lot of carries this year between designed runs, scrambles and sacks.

So as most are aware the word getting around is that he silently committed to USC when they showed up as soon as he got back from his OV to ND.

FWIW, Loy said that ND spoke to Jones last night and he gave no indication that he has committed silently to USC. Loy also spoke with him and he said that he hasn't decided yet.

I'm much less confident in that, they were insanely off on what they were reporting during the coaching search. I'm mean insanely off, anyone of us could have covered that better. With that said it looks 50-50 right now so this shouldn't come as a surprise but it's nice to see

It seems rather odd how USC just came from nowhere to suddenly "lead" for him, while ND was working their ass off trying to get this kid to flip. Also seems weird that mom would give him a blessing to leave school after visiting ND. Don't know, seems like ND had a lot more backed-up information regarding him trending, whereas a lot of USC's revolves around speculation and nothing from word of mouth. But hey, only at Notre Dame, right?

I'm not sure why you're consistently surprised that prospects might like other schools. USC has been recruiting him just as much as we have. He took an OV their which is 1 of only 2 OV's he's taken, which shows sincere interest. USC was at his house when he got home from his OV to ND, which some think squashed some of the excitement of the ND visit. There's legit interest in USC, if there wasn't he'd be committed already.

Hilarious. I haven't heard that one before. Excuse me for thinking that a guy decommits from a school right after visiting ND, and thinking he's probably heading to ND.

In addition, keeping Alford away from CSU should have helped our chances even moreso.
