Unless I'm putting too much weight behind the big instances, and disregarding when it's worked in our favor.

Every year there are going to be several committed prospects and perspective prospects that have classroom work to get done. Sometimes its as simple as staying the course and just finish what you've already started. Keep your GPA where its at and making sure you don't slack. Sometimes its actually increasing the GPA or taking an extra course (foreign language). So I don't extrapolate needing to get classroom work done as always bad and for most of us there is no way of knowing the severity of the work that needs to get done. However, I'll add the Dexter Williams has enough work to get done that the staff wouldn't accept his commitment right now and stop recruiting others (per TV). Where they seem pretty confident in Jones. That would tell me that those are two different classroom work scenarios.

Size isn't great, but he's not Isaiah Mckenzie either. Runs with balance and violence and those are the first things I want to see in a RB (besides abs).

Loy posted an article yesterday from his conversation with Ron. Alford, Cooks, and Denbrock were at his practice on Tuesday then Alford did an in-home visit with him later on. Said that he can tell that Alford is really passionate about the game and the RB position. They talked about the graduation rate and that Alford has coached 9 RB's to the NFL. Jones also said that his parents really like Alford as well. They could tell that he really loves his job and could help Ron reach his full potential. Obviously we are pitching the depth chart and the chance to come in and compete right away. His current plan is to OV for the banquet but if his team keeps winning he'll have to re-schedule for January.

Thanks for the summary. Would really suck if he can't make the banquet. Going to be a great event, and I'm guessing he's the #1 RB on the board after Soso, so they want to get a feel for his interest before they take a commitment from the other backs.
