I wonder if Coach Alford will be in the running for the vacant Colorado State position.

Yeah, this is the big domino if there is one. It's rare for someone to jump from an assistant to head coach without first being a coordinator, but Alford is the man.

This worried me as well with Alford graduating from there seems like a logical fit

Alford is one of the nation's best recruiters, and is a really affable guy. It was only a matter of time before he moved on. I would have bet on him getting a coordinator-level position elsewhere, but I would be thrilled for him if he got the opportunity to jump right into a HC position at his alma mater.

If I was CSU, I would go after Bill Clark. Doubtful he would even go that far from the south but you never know. The guy is a great coach.

If I were Colorado State I'd hand Craig Bohl a blank check to come on down from Wyoming.

If Alford's going to leave, I hope it's for CSU or another HC gig rather than OC. It'll give him a chance to be the man and see how he does. Down the road, this would make it possible for him to be the man at ND. IDK that ND would hire someone that wasn't a HC first.

I think Alford has been a very good recruiter for the University of Notre Dame. I also think he's a heck of a person. That being said, from my experiences in meeting, talking, and listening to Tony Alford, I can't ever imagine him being a successful enough head coach to come back to Notre Dame as one.

Does he leave for a coordinator position at his alma mater? The Head Coaching position at CSU is certainly in your reach from there, where the top spot at a school like ND or any power 5 for that matter, would almost certainly require a move like that.

Kinda hoping Nick gives him a call. He would be a great asset to our coaching staff. And he already has tremendous ties in recruiting. And, Bear Jr owes him for shutting down UAB anyway.

didn't the ravens hire Harbaugh when he was a special teams coordinator with no HC experience?

Going Wisconsin --> Arkansas --> Nebraska is such a weird career arch. I think one can argue that Wisco is the best job.

Shoot. I hope ND gives him a call for that matter. He's a terrific coach and definitely got hosed. I understand the appeal for CSU to go after Alford but he hasn't even been an OC let alone a coach. Every school like CSU that has an opening should be beating down the door at a chance at Clark.

Just like when Randy Edsall used Maryland to go to Connecticut. Bielema just started winning in the SEC too. I would assume he just doesn't like it down there.

Didn't he leave Wisconsin because he didn't get along at all with Alvarez? In that sense it's logical to want to be north again...and out of the SEC West.

Nebraska > Arkansas.

Bielema, despite being a certified douche, is a good pick up for the Big Ten

Yeah, B10 seems to be on the rise.

Meyer - Elite
Dantonio - Semi-Elite / Elite
Bielema - Semi-Elite
Franklin - Great Recruiter / Coaching Ability TBD
Next Michigan Coach - Better than Hoke

The funny thing is that a few days ago I thought of Bielema as a guy Nebraska would lust after for his style of offense. I just figured he wouldn't move this year.
