Rivals: Not much. Gave the visit high remarks. Might visit OSU this weekend and UCLA later on. Hoping for early January decision, and ND will have in-home on Dec. 7th via Cooks.

Considering how thin we are a Safety. I would definitely welcome this addition with open arms. Are DB crop of McKinney, Edwards, Fertitta, White, Coleman and Crawford is pretty damn good in my books.

Watched this guys highlights. I actually prefer Edwards to Buncom as a Safety. They're about the same in terms of athleticism, but Edwards is more built, while Buncom is a little lanky. The big selling point is Edwards always seems to be in the right place at the right time. He's always there to make the play on the receiver, and plays the ball. Very similar physically to Shumate, but way ahead of him in terms of playing the ball and reaction time. Definitely a take, and lives up to his nickname, Mr. Underrated.

One thing I also noticed in that highlight video is how pussified the refs were. I saw a few flags called on him that were really weak.

He said ND is more of a football school then Stanford. BK told him he could come in and play right away. I don't think anybody would argue differently. He thinks it would be fun to play in their defense.

Good visit. Visits OSU this weekend.

Edwards is double the athlete Buncom is if not more.

Edwards is a very aggressive player and attacks the player. Hence why he does have flags, bc he leads with his head 24-7. Not a huge issue, I personally like it bc Id rather have Taylor Mays out there than Austin Collinsworth.

Buncom plays the game with his head bc he isnt the best athlete on the field. He understands concepts and where guys will be and gets to spots. Im not saying Buncom isnt athletic, but Edwards is one of those "freaks" in the class, so I am not sure how you can say they are about the same athletically.

Buncom isnt a high flash guy like Edwards, but he is a guy that consistently lets his fundamentals take over and wrapsup and make the play.

To this point, I view Buncom as more of a FS than a SS like Edwards.

I don't know. It seemed like Buncom wasn't that far behind Edwards in terms of athleticism. At least, not enough for me to tell the difference. He utilized great stride as a WR, and was able to get separation. It may just come down to who plays better competition. One being in Cali and the other in FL, I can't really say since I'm no expert on those areas level of competition. Both generally are high comp areas. Weird thing is that I don't see where you have Buncom playing with his head, while Edwards plays more with his feet essentially. Like I said, Edwards was always in the right place at the right time, which has me believe that he is playing with his head (both figuratively and literally in this case). However, I do see the difference in tackling. Buncom is definitely a textbook tackler, while Edwards is a hard-hitter. I don't mind either one, but I still prefer Edwards, since I like that he plays the ball and not the receiver. That added to his aggression and strength has the makings of a great safety.

Any chance you can make a prediction in where he will sign?

gotta survive his visit with urban this weekend.

he's got a ton of momentum lately and I got a feeling if he wants in this race he's going to get into it.

I really like him as an athlete, but he has to pick his head up. Yes, that's an easy fix, but also a habit that should be broken by your senior year of high school. Looks like a few D1 players on that team.

LOL. They have 12 kids rated on Rivals man, where have you been?

And the majority of them won't just be playing D1 football, but Power 5, D1 football.

Had no idea. Looks like I'm right on. Can my scouting game be stopped? Goodness...

Per Tj our best shot at a S. He said that Stanford has and still does lead for Buncom.

Not all that surprising, but Coney is recruiting Edwards for us.

Is getting some increased interest from UF. As of now he doesn't really say too much about his interest but this could put a wrinkle in his recruitment. Wiltfong is still confident he ends up in south Bend.
