watched "Dallas Buyers Club" and "Saving Mr. Banks".

wow. both very well acted. Matthew McConaughey was a force. and yes, I'm a sucker for the physical transformations certain actors go through for roles. and both he and jared leto took this method piece to a new level. i never really felt for this character. he fought a good fight, but to me, he was still an asshole. good flick though. and i recommend.
"saving mr. banks" obviously you're getting the brilliance of tom hanks. and emma thompson is no slouch. i find her to be a bit stage-y or "over after-ish" at times. but she's so good at just being a vile angry person. in discussing the pathos of the characters in "Mary Poppins" while having to deal with the dollar printing press that is Disney studios and the "google" like playfulness of that work environment, made for very likable scenes. couple that with the music of "mary poppins" and a wonderful score by Thomas Newman its a very moving piece. Paul Giamatti is fantastic. he's the heart of the film. and really enjoyed jason schwartzman and bj novack. but for me the money was on bradley whitford, whose got to be the best producer in hollywood to breakthrough to this crotchety old woman.

I just saw The Wolf of Wall Street. I didn't think I was going to like it because I'm not a huge Jonah Hill fan and Matthew McConaughey is strange.

But, surprisingly, I quite liked it!

Saw it as well and liked it. Watched "The Other Woman". Okay for a chick flick but could have been better.

Saw Interstellar tonight, was absolutely amazing! I am completely blown away.

Nice. Haven't seen it yet but I'm hoping for pretty much "Promethius" with half a plot. Am I far off?

On the other hand just saw Brazil. Was something of a cross between Clockwork Orange, 5th Element, and an acid trip, and cjust saw Brazil. Was something of a cross between Clockwork Orange, 5th Element, and an acid trip, and not competely in a good way. Had artistic value but I wouldnt necessarily recommend it.ompetely in a good way. Reasonable Doubt with Samuel L. Jackson was pretty good. Murder courtroom drama.

I made my girlfriend watch The Birdcage with me last night because she had never seen it before. I forgot how brilliant that movie is. One of the best comedies ever.

I saw "John Wick" in IMAX. Definitely worth the price of admission. It moved along quickly and the action set pieces kicked copious amounts of ass. A bit of a thin plot, but hey, nothing wrong with "angry guy kills everyone remotely connected to the people who wronged him" story line. Keanu Reeves actually was ideal for the role. There something about him that makes you believe that he can be simultaneously; 1.) a tortured, sensitive soul and 2.) a heartless killing machine. Very cool movie, it's good to see an action movie with balls.

I also saw Nightcrawler last week and enjoyed it. Gylenhall was great as the lead and was an entertaining film throughout.

Also recently saw Saint Vincnet and thought it was the best film I had seen in a while. I thought it was quite touching without being too schmaltzy. Bill Murray was unsurprisingly fantastic, the actor who played the main kid was also great, and it was cool to see Melissa McCarthy playing a role in which she was more of a straight man than over the top slapstick or goofball. I also loved the priest at the kid's school. I really did not find any fault with the move and would be great to see Murray rewarded come Oscar time.

St Vincent was fantastic. It was very sad, not expected. But like usual Bill Murray was amazing.

On the other hand, I saw Dumb and Dumber To and it was quite possibly the worst thing I've ever seen in theatres. Absolutely horrible, they tried way too hard to make it funny and it was a complete failure.

Yeah I really liked Dumb and Dumber as a kid, but I expected the sequel to be horrible from the previews. If they were going to make that move should have been done 15+ years ago.

Chris O'Dowd, he's an Irish actor that was in Bridesmaids with Kristen Wiig, Calvary with Brendan Gleeson and Lena Dunham's Girls.

Murray is a great talent. Even though most of his stuff is comedies, you can still see that he can be a great actor in serious roles. Go back and watch his SNL clips. Guy was brilliant. He played the fry cook in the "No hamburger, cheese burger" skit to perfection.

Check out O'Dowd in the British sitcom "The IT Crowd." You can find it on Netflix and it's freaking hilarious.

I watched "Alien Nation" last night. It's a good, underrated movie with an interesting premise. James Caan and Mandy Patinkin are terrific together, the ultimate police odd couple. Apparently, a lot of the movie got left on the editing floor; it was supposed to be much more involved. I'd be interested to see an extended cut, but I don't think it's become that much of a cult classic that a director's cut is in the works.

Watched Sex Tape. Not too bad, except they had a penchant for showing Jason Segel's backside way to often and never showed Diaz.
