Dragon Warrior was the tits....
Wow. I was really sick once as a kid, and beat that game in one day playing it non-stop. Such an awesome game.

Did your illness happen to stop time for like two weeks???????... That game took forever.
My favorite RPG of all time.

I cant believe you guys can remember all this shit. All I remember is the original Dragon Warrior wasn't too hard but some of the subsequent games were hard as hell. Then again I've never replayed the Dragon Warrior series (head hung in shame.)
Most games I would agree, but this was one of my favorites in my most formative years. You don't forget that shit. Don't you remember every detail about your favorite toy(s) growing up? For me it they were grey cartridges that I blew on when they didn't work. Dragon Warrior (game and series) were among my very favorites.
Any takers on the Dragon Warrior 7 question challenge (2 posts up)?
I played the shit out of Civ II. Probably thousands of hours.
Today I can't stand Civ, but I'd go back and play Civ II any day.
NES games...
Zelda
Super Mario Bros 1 (kinda 2)
the original NES Baseball game
Kung-Fu
Ghosts 'n' Goblins
Contra
Mike Tyson's Punch out
Pro Wrestling
Clu Clu Land (kinda obscure, simple game; but addicting)
Excitebike
How about Intellivision?
Space Battle
Sea Battle
Baseball
Football
Golf (this game was very fun)
Dungeons and Dragons
Night Stalker
Donkey Kong (it was the shit to have this at home in 1982)
AstroSmash (one of the best 'arcade-style' games ever for a home console)
How about Little Lbaseballseball for NES, I loved that game!
That was good. There were a ton of good baseball games on NES. I was really into Baseball Stars for awhile. And RBI... And Bases Loaded... Damn, good times.
The best game IMO.

I got you, Nintendo was my thing too. I still know every bush to burn and every place to put a bomb in Zelda. I can still beat Mike Tyson pretty easily (0073735963). Jaws is but a goldfish to me. Maybe someday I'll revisit the DW series if I ever have the time. But for now how about another honor system question, who can beat the original Contra without the code for 30 guys? Seriously that seems impossible to me.
Is there a classic video game thread we should move this to?
Going retro~
FF IV on PC (it's basically the DS version, but on your PC, thus for me 42" TV).

It's making me super nostalgic for the old Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior in US) games.

My boy, Taloon the arms merchant.
I know everyone wants a remake of FF VII in a modern graphics engine (that would be so fucking sweet; 2017 is the 20th anniversary), but I was really hoping when Square and Enix merged that the Dragon Quest series would get some remake love as well.. not as in a Nintendo DS face-lift, an honest to God remake. I'd take Dragon Quest, but a Dragon Quest IV remake would rock my world (2nd favorite RPG of all time, to DUH if you know the genre) since the 2001 PS1 remake never made it out of Japan.
With the graphical capabilities of the current generation of consoles I don't see why a FF VII, Chrono Trigger or Dragon Warrior remake wouldn't make business sense. I bet they'd bring in a TON of money (especially in Japan), but that may be too much to ask for since it's all one company (Square-Enix) with finite resources.

Going to have to make a BIG ass post when I have the time.
I spent all my free time playing video games and now I have none.
I merged the two video game threads.
I have had all of the main consoles and have played regularly since forever. Right now I am playing Skylanders swap force with the kids. Its a great game except for having to buy the characters separately.
When the f*ck did you become a mod?
