I knew that was fake when it said FSU was actually suspending him. Especially for 1 1/2 games.
I knew it was fake when the first 4 words in the link are The Fake News World. See the signs.

I thought obvious saracasm was obvious...perhaps I should have used italics.I knew it was fake when the first 4 words in the link are The Fake News World. See the signs.

I see the similarities to Oklahoma 2012.
But, I fear this won't be a repeat.
I don't really feel like our defense is as stout as it was in 2012. Also, assuming Winston plays, they've got a better offense than OU did. But our offense is better than two years ago, if it can hold on to the ball. Expecting a good game.
As for the drinking, I may start off with an Evan Williams on the rocks, just to set the right base. Then sucking down Coors Banquets until the fight is through.
I think overall the unit might be better than 2012, but the 2012 unit did have more "difference makers". If that makes sense.
I like this year's secondary more, and the athleticism at OLB is much improved. The DL is going to have to make the difference in this game. Hoping to see them dominate an average FSU OL.

I see more similarities to Alabama BCS Championship game. Not when comparing the teams, but predicting the outcome. I think ND gets throttled and it'll be over by halftime. Yes, FSU has yet to play impressively. I believe they show out this Saturday b/c (other then Clemson) they've undewhelmed. I think those underwhelming performances have given Irish fans false hope. Could be wrong...hope I am. This is not to bash my beloved Irish. I just look at the following:
ND's defense is VERY young/inexperienced & thin at depth
Golson has proven that the turnovers have become a trend...not just an anomaly
ND's first game against a true passing attack was last Saturday vs UNC & it was ugly b/c of the QB's ability to throw & run. The offenses of the first five teams they beat were one-dimensional, anemic or inept.
I think this Irish squad is one year away. I, for one; didn't predict they'd be 6-0 going into this game...so in my mind, they're playing w/ house money. Unfortunately, ESPN & the like are going to over hype this game (as they should to increase viewership) and then go to the old mantra of "Notre Dame is overrated, lacks the elite speed, blah, blah, blah.
Sorry, I know this flies in the face of what all of you are feeling or thinking but that's my 2 cents.
I see what you are saying, and agree this has all the ingredients of the type of game you mentioned. This isn't you being a party pooper or rude, this is reality. Lucky for us, games aren't played on paper, but my gut agrees with you, and it hurts just thinking about it. I'm already shuddering at what may happen to my remote/TV every time the camera pans to JW giving that dumba-ss smirk.
Exactly. Usually, I play the Holtzian role (Coach Holtz...not Dr. Lou) of talking up all ND opponents b/c I realize that ND is usually the biggest game on their opponents' schedule. But this is different. Again, no crime in losing b/c this is a young ND team that I think can be special next year.
I don't know if I agree with you on us getting throttled because I think we're athletic enough to play competitive ball. But I will agree that we're a year away from playing legitimate championship-caliber football. I'm on record that Id really rather stick it to a middling SEC East team in a major bowl than go the playoffs this particular year.

So you're basically assuming FSU realizes their full potential and plays great in this game, but ND will completely fold and regress. Not sure I understand that logic at all.
This staff will have ND playing a great game. Is it enough to beat FSU's best? Not sure, but there are very few similarities to the '12 Bama game. That was literally a healthy semi-pro team ND faced that year. This is a completely different situation.
No, I believe that FSU has the more talented & more experienced roster right now. ND has been decimated on defense by injuries & suspensions. It's a very young squad that has yet to face an elite offense. We just have different opinions.
As far as the Bama game comparison, please recall that I was not comparing the two rosters (you're right, that was a semi-pro team). I was comparing the outcome and the blowback that ND got for being a fraud. I think we'll hear the same thing for the following week after the FSU game. The thing is even most ND fans didn't predict a 6-0 record going into this game. This team should be special next season if everything plays out (no more suspensions or career ending injuries). In my mind, we're playing w/ house money. In the media's (& the uninformed haters') mind, it's another overhyped ND team that lacks "SEC speed" to truly compete. NOTE: I'm not saying that...but that will be the narrative next week...bank on it.

Well I imagine you won't be watching since you already know the outcome.I see more similarities to Alabama BCS Championship game. Not when comparing the teams, but predicting the outcome. I can definitely see ND getting embarrassed again... I mean, it's ND, other than Oklahoma in 12 and USC in 05 the program has lost every single big game it's played by a decided margin over the past 15 years or so...
so yeah...
with that said, unlike with bama, or SC during the poodle era, I really believe they have a shot here...
if EG can hang onto the ball it should be an amazing game.
That's a pretty big if, don't you think?
