Any word on how Stanford's O-line has looked this year?
Much like ours. Very talented, but young and unsettled. I'm sure BvG will have success in pressuring Hogan.

The only game that I worry about on the schedule is FSU. There is no reason ND can't compete and win every game. I think Stanford is beginning the decline back into their hole and I think you see Shaw take a job somewhere else. (Michigan?)

I love Brad Edwards' explanation on ESPN of why he's picking Stanford.
His only reason he gave was that ND hadn't played anyone of note all year long. So...Stanford has played one good team all year and they lost....pretty sound logic there by him.

Just like I felt for the Michigan game. These two teams played close last year. Both teams have some key losses. Only one side is greatly improving at an important position, and that's ND with it's QB.
Irish 27
Stanford 17
I do too. My biggest worry at this point is the flu bug going around.
If at full strength (minus the five, I know) - 31 -17 Irish. AND...finally earning respect from those heads that talk, ESPN calls them "experts".
If we don't have Jones, Day and Stanley - 20 - 17 Trees.
I fear I'm derailing this a bit too much, but one major problem with our reliance on cars to get around is that the entire system of suburbs/cars/sprawl is utterly utterly unsustainable---not in a "I love hugging trees" kind of way, but in a "we can't possibly afford to maintain it and people will die because it" kind of way (see 35W bridge collapse, for example).
High speed rail connecting major cities, within which local rail connects you to important destinations, would be a major step forward in affordable infrastructure. I'm sure our resident OSU grad city planner would be able to comment further.
In terms of football stuff, I'm very concerned about the players being sick. I'm sensing a pittsburgh 2012 performance coming up, without the terrible opponent to allow us back into the game at the last second.
ND will never get their respect. If ND wins its because Stanford isnt as good as everyone thought and ND still hasn't played anyone.
There is a difference on this team this year. THat 30-16 Syracuse win would probably have been a 20-16 win or a loss a few years back. Golson shit the bed and still came up smelling like roses.
I don't know what is going to happen. I thought Syracuse would cover... not really that close til that pick 6. I was worried about Michigan... and we ducking embarrassed them.
I KNOW that Stanford has serious flaws. But I don't like the flu bug, I don't like the conditions for us throwing the ball, and it's becoming obvious that the 4 teams we've smacked all suck. They're all trash teams so who knows how we do against a team that has talent.
Anyways... I'm done overanalyzing, gonna go hit up some bars and stuff. Who all is tailgating tomorrow?

Man. Pop a few extra vicadins before the game and really get it crankin'...
Btw, how in the heck did you secure a handle like "nd fan" in 2013. How did that get missed so long? lol
Squadd will be in full force tomorrow.

Burn it!So going through my closet I found my Arnaz Battle '02 kelly green jersey that I haven't seen in damn near a decade. I'm considering wearing it tomorrow (under the obviously necessary jacket and hoodie), but I also feel like, since I got it at the 2002 Boston College game, it would be bad luck. On the other hand, it's such a cool jersey.

I could see it. Although considering the state of the Raiders that would actually be a downgrade. But Shaw was on the staff there, he runs a "pro style" system, and the allure of the NFL might be too much. Besides I, like others here, feel Stanford might be on the decline. It might be smart for Shaw to jump before the ship starts taking water.Shaw to Oakland. I'm calling it.
