So when other kids visit that are committed to other schools it's all good but when a ND kid does it _

All things being equal, I agree with you. But I think you have to account for what NOLA is saying in his post above you. A somewhat equivalent situation would be a kid that grew up around South Bend and had been a ND fan his whole life committing to Oregon (or some other school with a very different culture), but still hanging around games and wearing ND gear when he does while always maintaining he was fully committed to Oregon. I think fans here would be kind of discouraged and annoyed, honestly. It isn't the same as Aliz'e Jones or Max Redfield traveling across the country to visit while committed elsewhere. And even in my hypothetical, the relationship that kids who grow up near South Bend have with ND is nowhere near the same as what it is with kids near LSU.

I'm definitely not saying "nothing to worry about" or that there is no chance he ends up at LSU. But I think NOLA totally nailed it, and I think a lot of our fans are oversimplifying the situation when they react to this stuff on twitter like the kid is traveling across the country to visit USC or something.

It's as if you're not paying attention to this particular situation, which I know you are. I guess I'm just confused. Are you suggesting that his actions HAVEN'T been conflicting?

His actions have been consistent throughout. He's been to LSU wore LSU gear, yet he still tells everyone he is Irish. Not many kids that meet Father Hesburgh are impressed or even care who he is. Tillery posted a pic of him and Hesburgh. Tillery has always told those who question his commitment that he is solid. He's more cerebral than most kids and that is one of the reasons I think he sticks.

So if Miles son is one of his good friends, is it too far fetched to think that he is just supporting his friend and his friends dad? Gets free tickets, and hangs with the Miles family at LSU games?? Is there anyone here that would not take advantage of that?

I really think he is Irish at the heart and wants to do his own thing. Regardless of what his parents or Coach Miles want him to do.

Is this all new behavior or are we just much more perceptive to it?

His actions are not consistent with his verbal pledge. Is that better?

Haven't we learned yet not to get overly concerned about recruiting until signing day?

I understand it's an important part of the game, but none of these verbals are solid until they sign.

Minds will stay committed.

Minds will change, against us and in our favor.

So,... tranquilo, guys. It'll be fine.

I can definitely understand him going to the LSU game in LSU gear. When I lived in Baton Rouge, I remember going to the LSU games in my ND gear and catching nothing but grief from the LSU fans. And LSU didn't even play ND that year nor hadn't for years. I mean, some poor fat sob was picking a fight type of deal.

So I can imagine if he showed up in ND gear how much cain he would catch. And Im sure the LSU gear was free from LSU boosters or staff anyhow. Who doesn't like free stuff?

I thought his parents were pro-LSU. Easiest thing for him to do is don the tiger-droppings his parents have bought for him and avoid all the hater-aide.

If he comes, great, if not, we'll still have a football team in a couple of years......unless we have more kids get in trouble, and it takes an entire football season to get through the honor committee process.....
