Guyton seems like a perfect fit for a Kelly offense at the Z. He can play either inside or out. This is similar to TJ or Hunter. This is an essential receiver for our offense.

Nice article at Scout about Jalen. He is looking to be a leader this year and up his production. There were 3 Sr. WRs on the team last year so he is looking to step it up more. Guyton, McKinney and Humphrey all will OV for the Michigan game.

Guyton is only considered a composite 3 star player (although he is rated as 4 star player by ESPN). Logic would say he is the least likely to be a number one receiver at the next level and most of the time that logic is pretty sound. But there is a saying in football that "the film doesn't lie" and I really like what I have seen from Guyton's senior film thus far.

He's beaten off coverage. He has won against press coverage. He has gotten deep for big plays. He's also running multiple routes and is that number one guy for Allen High and his quarterback, Texas A&M commit Kyler Murray.

Allen receiver Jalen Guyton once had an A&M offer before committing to Notre Dame. He has started the season off very strongly with 25 receptions for 533 yards and six touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He says A&M has been talking to him again as of late as well.
“They’ve been talking to me, Kyler (Murray), Greg (Little) and our DB (Jaylon Jones),” he said. “They’re just letting me know they want me to come down there with them sometime.
“I will always listen to anybody but something major would have to happen for me not to go to Notre Dame. I made my commitment and I’m happy with it.”

I'm guessing the news of them trying to get back in with Soso and this update of them trying to do the same with Guyton is what he is referring to. Not that I think A&M lands either one...but I bet that's what he's talking about.
