Nothing at all wrong with what he said... if anything the fact that he points to the old group as a measure is a compliment as (due to defensive meltdowns costing wins) most of the country doesn't even remember that group anymore... Cinncy does have a very talented core.

During the Miami OH v Cinci game the announcer said something along the same lines... "Could be the best wr crop in the nation."

I laughed. Then I watched them and... they good. Obviously not tops in the nation but the point stands.

I was watching also, caught the comment and had the same reaction in general... they are good.

UC's receiving corps goes 8-deep in quality, it's uncanny.

In terms of how it would translate to ND:

Mekale McKay = Cory Robinson with more speed
Chris Moore = An experienced version of Justin Brent, aka can play possession or speed
Max Morrison = White version of Chris Moore
Shaq Washington = Amir Carlisle, but shorter
Ralph David Abernathy IV = Amir Carlisle, less speed
Nate Cole = CJ Prosise, but taller
Alex Chisum = Davaris Daniels, though only in physical description and MAYBE potential... this year is his first extensive action
Johnny Holton = Chris Brown if he didn't have the speed but still thought he did

Even with a few veiled "insults," all of these guys are able to contribute on any play, against anyone IMO.

Well, Charlie was the HC developing WR's in '09, so it's possible.
