That is a large percentage of people (conservatively about 35% to 10% depending on test) that will fail them completely sober. And this is looking at the three standardized most reliable ones recommended by NHTSA.

You're obviously familiar with them. My problem with the HGN test is that the actual administration of the test is inconsistent, and cops often drag your eyes out to a point where it naturally happens. If they say you fail, you have no recourse as it's not going to be visible on video what you did or did not do... whatever the cop says goes.

My problem with the other two tests are that you can "fail" by doing things that aren't really failing to execute what was asked of you if the cop wants to get you.

It's weird that I'm this impassioned about this stuff when I've never gotten a DUI much less gone through a traffic stop. And I don't have any family that's gotten a DUI. Or have anyone I really care about that's been affected by a DUI. But with my work with SADD coupled with law enforcement people I've talked to about DUIs I just don't think it's a fair system.

The ones I've been involved with are probably the outliers in your stats. In my experience people have been asked stuff like:

Follow the top of the pen with just your eyes and not your head.

Starting with your left foot, walk heel to toe for 9 steps, turn around and do the same thing while counting your steps out loud.

What is today?

What time is it?

Where are you at?

Those are just some of things. There's always two cops there and there's a cheat sheet we use. Literally just reading it off. It's more in depth then just doing an FST which is kinda why I suggested my experiences are an outlier. I've been involved with people hitting multiple cars, sleeping at traffic lights, etc. Just had one recently involving a former CNN anchor.

In DC, if you refuse then your license is automatically suspended.

Lynch offsides negating a interception for the Niners. Just got his ass handed to him on the sideline.

He hasn't looked that great besides a few plays. He looks a lot bigger. Hope he gets it together and contributes.

Side Note: Ian WIlliams was listed as Starting DT. That's cool he got his starting spot back after last season injury.

Glad you do... zero fucks given here

And I only opened this thread thinking he's either A) been cut already for violating team rules or B) Got his ass chewed for something stupid. I was on point.

Fml I'm way out of the loop. Damn baby's in my house

I'm not sure where to go with this.

If "baby's" a pole dancing, bunny boiling bimbo you're better off. Real babies are a much better deal. Fuck "the loop!"

A babe or two (or three, etc.) in the house could be the best deal yet ...

he played DE in their nickel packages, nullified a pick by lining up in the neutral zone. the word is he has been ok in camp but played poorly last night

Thought he looked pretty darn impressive during his time in. He looked pretty fast coming off the edge.

It'd be great to hear by mid-season, that Aaron has turned the corner and bought in. That he has a mentor on the team and that he appears to have his life in order.

This guy wanted to be at ND but he had an interior war. Some of it was the GF, some of it was other people telling him he couldn't hack it but he signed with us and gave us some time.

I wish him nothing but the best, he'll always know leaving ND was a mistake so there is no reason to hold the kids future ransom for past mistakes. If he stayed here and continued to develop, he would've been selected within the first couple of rounds.

It didn't happen. I really hope he finds his way.

I am glad he had a nice game. We all know the potential is there, just gotta stay locked in and he could be an All-Pro. He is as physically gifted as anyone I can remember so do not waste this opportunity.

Haha. And then the story that he wasn't going to come to the Niners cause he thought a scout was disrespecting him. What an idiot.
