I don't think it's unethical. I just think that Beckman is not in any position to turn away talented players, which Justin is. I'm confident that the kid will recover just fine.

No one comes out of Notre Dame (undergrad) with a lot of debt unless a) your parents aren't willing to actually contribute to your education or b) there is no B.

*edit* actually B would be you didn't fill out the FAFSA form.

My parents didn't contribute to my education and due to so unfortunate circumstances, 2.5 years of my undergrad plus 3 years of grad school was all on my. Take the free ride 100% of the time.

Too good of a player to be stuck with Western Mich as his best choice. I hope he shows some teams that he is worth taking and gets a chance to play big boy football somewhere.

I really like what Fleck is building at WMU. Seems to really connect with his players and he turned that program around rather quickly.

If he can build upon the success they had last year, he is going to be a nice little hire for a Big 5 conference team next offseason.

He's great on campus with students and fans too. Drives a golf cart around campus a few days before game day and hands out free tickets and gets the students rallied. Called his own PC last year to sign his extension in front of local media, students, and ND fans to let them know he's here to build a program.

Does he have any family that can play safety while we're at it?

I'm surprised he doesn't have more impressive offers. I remember people talking about Justin and that he was a better athlete possibly than his brother.

I don't know if he was known as a better athlete. I would say similar athletic talent, just different body types. Justin was always a little smaller but a touch faster then Drue.
