So now that everything went as expected this week, sans getting a nice surprise with Adam's commitment, the last remaining guy that I feel we get before the season starts is Bilal. He is very important to the class as a whole and since we missed on Hilliard and Sykes is apparently out, he is that much more needed. Don't kid yourself though, he is not just a roster spot, he is extremely athletic and will make a lot of plays for us if he so chooses to be here.

The Michigan game will likely determine whether we scoop our semi-long shots in this class.

Every lb is a poor mans Jaylon...:)

Bilal is extraordinary at not getting blocked. I mean he makes opposing OL look rediculous.

I just wish his tape wasn't sped up, it's harder to get a feel for how fast he is. Either way he's a hell of a LB and probably not that far of a drop off from Hilliard. If we pick up Bilal after picking up Barjas and last year Morgan, we've had a fantastic two year LB haul.

So are we going to be stuck here until the season begins, do you guys think?

I think Bilal could become a part of the class before the season starts but it's not certain that he will decide before then or even that he'd be Irish. I would say he's the most likely though.

Bilal and Coney.

Bilal wants to decide before his season, and per Loy, there are a lot of sources that believe Coney will commit to ND.

Yes, good point. He'd be the only one though I think.

Well I can say I think the staff has done great work to have as many as we do preseason.

Very substantial work indeed.

Bilal and Coney would be fantastic.

Based on what I've been reading here, ND clearly needs some LB's to fit BVG's D. Apparently Deeb isn't going to be able to cover, Schmidt isn't big enough, Hill is too large, depending on Onowalulu (sp) to fill-in, etc.... Seems like mucho negativity with the LB corps outside of Jaylon.

Seems to me that ND can convert some of these folks into 4-3 LB's. It has to be better than what I'm reading.

Agree. Getting one or two more before the season would be fantastic. It's been said, but winng games (especially with the big recruiting weekends like Fuck Michigan) is key to how we finish. How many do we see taking this year?

First I've heard of this. Keith Arnold just put out an article today about him being undersized. Curious where this concern is coming from.

Check the last five weeks of Collins thread. All kinds of opinions. None from the staff.

Good God there's a lot of conclusions there about players we've never seen in a system we've never seen. I for one think he's extremely raw which is why some might peg him a a DE from his tape, but I think he's got the basic skill set (and time) to develop into a more complete LB whose height/weight profile is in line with a lot of big-time 4-3 defenses if not a tad bit short. Who knows though.

As for who is next, I'm hoping it's Bilal.

If Kolin Hill is "too large" to play in BVG's system, why did BVG recruit him?
Regardless, Bilal & Coney seem like the next most likely to pop. After that the crystal ball gets fuzzy.
