Chris Broussard has the worst sources in sports.

Some guy nailed it in the comment section of a story:

"Chris Broussard's sources:

1. Chris Broussard
2. ESPN.com"

Smart move by Broussard. If he goes, you broke it first. If he doesn't, no one cares.

I really hope not, because that would be a laughably bad trade. I didn't see it in connection with a single team, but Indy is trying to send him West somewhere apparently.

Don't really buy it, but....
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Cleveland has replaced Miami as my frontrunner to land LeBron James...</p>— Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) <a href="https://twitter.com/Chris_Broussard/statuses/485973472502218754">July 7, 2014</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

he also followed this up with:
@Chris_Broussard
I'm not saying LJ to Cavs is done deal or I know 4 a fact; just my gut feeling based on many conversations I've had around this story...

and....
@Chris_Broussard
These convos aren't sourced enough 4 me to report as fact. But I've heard enough to believe "the wind is blowing" LJ back home. We'll see...

reporting at it's finest

bold statement followed by a bunch of ass covering

So much complaining about 'jounalism' these days.

Twitter has changed the game and individuals along with companies are adapting.

No problem with Broussard's info, or 'journalism'.

Except his info is hardly ever correct and he's the laughingstock of the nba community.

It's kinda funny hearing the Miami supporter talking heads at espn in denial over the fact that Lebron could leave.

Then again, with Bosh getting that deal, I wonder if they could pull Melo in now.

Bosh getting the max is absurd to me. It will be very hard for Miami to hold on to the big 3 now. I guess everything will become clearer once Lebron meets with Riley.

Bosh to Houston would be crazy. Maybe Wade to Chicago if Lebron heads to Cleveland?

Nah Bosh just wasn't a priority on the Heat. He is worth a lot and is a great fit in Houston.

There is a difference between a lot and max contract.

Bosh is like that cute volleyball player in high school with the killer spandex ass. She looks good and is fun to look at, but when compared to the cheerleaders, she is merely a 7. Bosh is a 7.

True, but look at who else is being talked about with max contracts. Gordon Hayward? NBA owners are overall pretty dumb with money. Bosh is worth a ton, and especially if you want to lure him away from Miami, you're gonna have to break out the checkbook. I still don't think Houston with Bosh is the favorite out of the West. I saw something else as well, the most that Houston could offer a free agent if Bosh accepts is 3 million.

I don't think Bosh is a max player, but I think he'd be damn good along side of Howard.

You're worth what somebody is willing to spend. That's why so many players get max level contracts.

Not picking on you, but I've personally never understood that saying, lol.

I think it's true if you're the seller, but not for the buyer, if that makes any sense.

I think Pau Gasol will most likely tilt the Western Conference if he chooses to sign with either the Spurs or the Thunder, or even sign with the Lakers. I still like the Spurs and Thunder better than the Rockets even if they end up signing Bosh.

It's cool man, I don't consider that picking on me.

What it essentially boils down to is that market value must be determined by the market, which always overpays stars in the NBA. So Bosh's market value is indeed max contract. The artificial constraints in the CBA restrict some players from making what they are truly worth (LBJ, KD etc), but they are the exception, not the rule.

Since I know that I'm not being clear: the market value for Chris Bosh is a max-level contract because he was offered one. I'm still pretty sure I messed that one up but hopefully you can figure it out because clearly I'm just unable to think coherently.

I think maybe what he's getting at is "market" and "buyer" are not necessarily the same thing. One buyer spending X amount on a single item doesn't necessarily mean the market (constituting multiple buyers here) has valued that single item for the entire market.

Granted, if somebody is willing to pay Chris Bosh the max (or Eric Bledsoe, as is being reported), then we can obviously say his value is that of a max player. But there is such a limited amount of teams and players available, I think it's tough to call that a genuine "market." It is a specialized market.

I'd probably pay Chris Bosh 25k a year (but with high incentives) to come work for me.

With respect, the USA economy is built on selling goods and services. The cost of the good or services is determined by the market. Whatever someone is willing to pay for a service determines the cost.
