Tweet could be nothing, but if you take it at face value, his girlfriend knows where he's going next year. Canceling a visit due to a "family matter" is fairly common excuse. Based upon his other recent tweets, it sounds like he's all pOSU.

I think he's trolling everyone because he's so tired of being hounded in regards to his recruitment. But what do I know.

I wouldn't worry about that. The Hilliard and Cornell thing is mostly Cornell.

I hope so, but I find it odd that he wants to announce on the same day with all the chatter of playing together. We'll see.

So both him and Cornell are announcing OSU Wednesday. I thought we had a decent shot with Hilliard until this came out.

95% chance he is trolling and/or Urban told him to say ND was in his top 2 so it could look like he pulled two big victories over ND on the same day. Great for appearances.

5% chance that in order to get Hilliard tried to push for Cornell again and that he is a take. But last I heard he was off our board and has been for some time. So to me this news screams they're both making a splash for OSU.

I think we get Boykin though. If we don't I'll be really bummed out.

If they commit with OSU, it would be the "worst defeat" for Kelly since he is the HC at ND in recruiting terms? Two elite recruits who were very close to ND and sometimes we were the front runner for both, specially Cornell.

Anthony Barr still hurts but he is literally in UCLA's backyard.

You are right but, even with his legacy at ND, he always was sincere about wanting to stay close to home (and that was when Weis was the coach, i think -not sure-). Those two are a package and maybe they will go to Meyer's backyard after all. It would be painful. I'm the first to hate the rankings but ND did not recruit a top 50 player last year (247composite) and if we lose Hilliard and Cornell, it looks like this year will be the same. I would hate to lose a fight with Urban in a tight race for two big time recruits.

This certainly doesn't look good for the good guys, but as long as we get Bilal, I'll be more than thrilled with LB recruiting this year. Don't get me wrong Hilliard is a great player and would love to have him hear. You just are t going to win em all.

I don't know if you can consider Cornell a defeat on any level if he's not even a take for us. Hilliard is a big loss because of his talent, but trying to pull an elite talent from Ohio is never more than a 50/50 proposition if Meyer is all in.

Haha, down to OSU and ND?

Since when?

It's because Hillard is down to those schools. They said they wanted to play with each other from the start. Obviously if Cornell said he's down to Michigan and Ohio State everyone would "know" he was going to OSU. Not that we don't already know that though...

That rarely ever happens, and similar things have been said between Hilliard and a bunch of players. Remember that he wanted Chris Clark along with Cornell and Harris to join him wherever he went...then Clark committed to Michigan. There's also the factor that Taylor is a ND commit and is good friends with Hilliard. Also Tevon Coney and Hilliard have expressed some interest to play together. And Crawford and him are planning on rooming together at the Opening. So there's a lot more than just his relationship between Cornell going right now.

I disagree with a lot of this. Clark will end up at OSU. Sounds like he may not qualify for UM. Don't look too much into the Coney and Hilliard thing, IMO, a lot of recruits say things like this. Harris may very well end up at OSU too, so all of them may end up at OSU after all.

Don't know if anything is ever truly a fact in recruiting.

But he was a priority under Diaco and looked at as a DE or OLB. Then we had a coaching change and he got fat as fuck. People don't know if he's a DT now or DE or what, but he's far from the uber athletic high upside prospect that got him his early lofty rating. Michigan straight up dropped him, and that was confirmed. Notre Dame basically hasn't contacted him in months save some very cursory tabs. Per people who would know, he isn't a take right now... could that have changed recently? Sure, everything is fluid, but I doubt it has. USC and other schools that were on him hard early have also dropped him.

I honestly believe OSU is recruiting him hard as a way to get Hilliard and nothing more. I also think that was a shrewd move on their part, as the visit where Hilliard really seemed to buy in on OSU was when he visited with Cornell and Harris.
