I'll say it:

Watch us not end up with Barnett, Tillery, Cornell or Hilliard.

Well this is probably the worst thing that could have happened this week. And the Rangers play Wednesday/Saturday so this is saying a lot.

A lot of us have some crow to eat if he flips.

A flip would suck for this class. Lets just hope he still makes it for the Irish Invasion. Freak out freak out everybody freak out. Wiltfong comments leave an uneasy feeling in my stomach. This is absolutely great news.

Hopefully he still makes it to II and we roll the red carpet out for him and remind him why he committed in the first place.

My only fear is that this visit was done in secrecy, so it must have gone well enough for him to green-light Hopkins to make it public. Sucks big time.

This has been the most upside down day for me. I'm done. Time for too much beer.

I'm going HAM on the first person who says the sky isn't falling.

Well it's not, and you nancys need to toughen up. For the love of God.......... Blake Barnett not coming to ND is the WORST THING that could happen to you, this week? I've got a news flash for you: NO IT'S NOT! Count your lucky stars that you don't lose someone incredibly important to you, this week. Or that no one you are close to is diagnosed with an incurable, withering, fatal disease. Because it could get A LOT f'in worse. Grow some hair on your sack, for Christ's sake, and be a man. Quit freaking out about what some college football player is doing, or MIGHT be doing.

It's kind of crazy that he's already been "committed" for half of a year. QBs are usually also very rare to flip.

Is he talking flip? Or are we speculating the worst?

(1) He took a "secret" visit to Oregon (only telling our coaching staff about it after the fact); and (2) Wiltfong thinks he's gonna flip.

(2) is the killer there.

Damn so even when a father cries over his son's commitment it doesn't mean much. WTF. This is classic, he'll flips right as almost all of the QB's dominoes fall and we're left holding the bag.

"I'm still committed to Notre Dame," he said. " But I'm treating this like a business decision. I wanted to visit Oregon to be sure of my decision. I appreciate Notre Dame and the coaches and their support, but this was something I need to do to be sure."
However I'm also considering Oregon. I really liked the trip and they also have a lot to offer."

What's next for the four-star quarterback from Corona (Calif.) Santiago?

"I don't know right now. I just need to get home and talk with my family. I don't think I'm taking any other visits."

If that last sentence means he's not coming to II, he gone IMO

He enjoyed his visit to Oregon, saying he is still committed to ND however he is considering Oregon. He says he has to go home and talk to his parents and that he doesn't think he will take anymore trips(not sure if he meant to Oregon or in general), he also stated he loved the communications degree from Oregon and their overall presentation.

Looking like a flip is coming in my opinion

Still committed to ND, treating like a business decision. Wanted to visit Oregon to be sure of his decision. Appreciates ND staff for their support but needs to be sure of decision. He's also considering Oregon, liked the trip and said they have a lot to offer. Wants to study broadcast communications, Oregon offers a "great degree" in that field. Academic center was amazing as was the support staff. Didn't push for a commitment. Says he needs to go home and talk to family and he doesn't think he's taking any other visits.

Wow. I could see if Chip Kelly was still there but to flip to Mark whatever his name is really would blow.

I'm glad he is thinking about life after football but last time I checked there were 10x as many ND alums in prominent broadcasting roles than Oregon. Joey Harrington is the only one I can even think of.
