Cubbies come to town tomorrow and Samardzija is pitching. I'll be sitting right next to the visitors dugout....I'm gonna wear a ND hat so I don't feel so bad rooting against him.

Sorry Jeff. GO GIANT'S!

My fellow Braves fans we might be in a bit of trouble. This offense is flat out terrible.

I'm thinking, if the Angels are this good now, what happens if Hamilton comes back next week and starts hitting??

Amen. Makes you wonder how long they keep him up in STL after Adams returns.

Definitely a September call-up, for sure. I wonder if he can play CF effectively, yet, because he could become a lot more versatile and useful, if that becomes the case.

And your O's are getting SPANKED

Jimenez started so it's expected. In the third inning he gave up a grand slam* after walking three consecutive batters to start the inning. Umps review the call, change it to a double. After another walk and a ground out, he gives up a grand slam. Buck was on his way to the mound before the ball landed.

Oh I know. I'm watching it on MLB Network and reviewing Evidence.

Serious question for White Sox fans. Do you guys like listening to Hawk Harrelson call games?

Gotta toss Machado for that. Throwing his bat down the third base line after the pitch was already caught? C'mon kid.

Machado is a punk! Like Mark DelaRosa said on MLB network he showed no respect for the game.
He also hit the catcher twice in the head with his follow through. He should be suspended, when he comes back he needs to get his ass knocked down.

To preface this let me say I'm not defending Manny and I'm not trying to pick a fight. What do you mean by the bolded? This seems to me to be one of those meaningless things people say when they want to be indignant about something. No respect for the game? I honestly don't know what that would mean.

I was quoting Joel MacGrain and Mark DeLaRosa on MLB network. He hit a catcher twice with his follow thru and threw a bat intentionally, you don't purposely try to injure another player then smirk about it. That's not the way the game should be played. Break up a double play, back someone off the plate, ok cool, that's playing hard. But you shouldn't try to hurt another player intentionally. Batters who mistakenly hit a catcher in the head with their follow always show concern. He did not then smirked.

Right I realize what happened and understood that you didn't say it. But, you brought it here because you agreed with it so I asked what it meant to you. Thank you for explaining.

Here's my problem with this though. The bolded parts are absolutely true but I don't know what the qualifier about "how the game is supposed to be played" has to do with it. You just don't that because it's messed up haha.

Well, here's is what I took to mean. Especially from two ex major leaguers. Machado was still frustrated about what happened with the tag the other night so he goes out and starts brandishing the bat like Juan Marichal. Hey, even in a violent game like football they have "unsportsmanlike "
Penalties. Go ahead and smash the quarterback or the guy blocking you but don't stomp on him like Suh did. DelaRosa just repeated himself once again, not good protocol, you just don't do that, bad sportsmanship. I guess what I'm saying is I totally agree.

Word. Thank you. Manny is going to get a timeout to think things over I assume. 2-3 games feels right to me.

John Jaso from the A's just said, this is not the way the game is to be played. I think players know more about this subject than anyway.

He has veteran leadership in the clubhouse to help him out. He is only 21 and not happy with his contract so maybe that has something to do with it. He can easily atone for his bad weekend.

Former player myself at a fairly high level. I agree that there are things that shouldn't be done I just think it's a stupid way of talking about it to say something like "that's not the way the game is played" or to talk about "respect for the game" or anything like that. If there is an articulable reason why something was out of bounds then articulate it. Don't hit me something so vague as to be meaningless like "respect for the game."

Just noticed you're an Oriole fan. Is there just a little bias? Just kidding. He just said in a interview the bat slipped, haha! That's classic. I hope you're not watching MLB network, they just said "playing the game the right way" about 20 times.
