Thank you all for the updates. I can't even keep track of who's all visiting, but it sounds like there's going to be a lot of prospects from all over the country.

Its on the front page of this thread. Reps to Bogs for doing a great job of staying on top of it. Keep in mind that some more names will come up and some these guys won't show but it gives you an idea of who's thinking/talking about it.

I didn't know Bogs spoke his second language, English, so well.

I thought someone had a smashing idea to get a thread started early to list the projected, and confirmed attendees. And to later match them against those that made the event. Also, anyone with press releases or information on camp specifics, feel free.

EDIT : Reps to IrishLion10 for the idea of the day to create this thread! He must indeed be a shining beacon of inspiration. Just like the newly lit Golden Dome. Lets all get the LED out. Get it lion?

Bogs, I see more players attending the Opening on your list. Both Patricks, Natrez the linebacker and Jacques the running back, have invitations. The tight end Chris Clark will be there, along with the wide receiver from North Little Rock, K.J. Hill. Recent offer Arthur McGinnis(110 tackles and 14 sacks as a down lineman) and wide receiver Tyron Johnson, teammates from Warren Easton LA, will travel to Oregon. As I stated earlier, both Tillery and Barnett will make excellent ambassadors at the Opening.

Confirmed Austin Bryant will be in town

This will be a very tough pull but every year there is a group of kids that are realistic long shots and he could be one. I'm on record saying that BVG will land 1 defender that we might not currently expect. Austin is on that list of candidates.

Should I expect 1 or 2 commitments during the Irish Invasion weekend? Or is the primary goal to be able to get to evaluate kids in person against good competition and enhance their interest in ND?

IMO, the goal is to secure official visits from the elite prospects that will be there. Most of the guys are going to be playing out their recruitments til late in the season. ND wants to use this camp to create buzz and momentum going into the season. Now could a couple guys fall in love and commit on the spot? Sure, definitely a possibility. I wont be disappointed if they don't get commitments though.

Plus, a huge advantage SEC schools have when recruiting kids from the South is proximity. Most of these kids have already taken multiple visits to SEC schools by the time they are seniors. Kids need to be able to picture themselves at whatever schools that are recruiting them. This is much easier when they can take multiple visits. An unofficial in the summer and an official during the season drastically improves our chances with anyone.

Yea, TJ said a few weeks back that the primary goal is to get elite kids on campus for the first time in a effort to secure officials and our names on the list throughout the process. Second would be to evaluate some of the kids that will be coming that don't have offers in an effort to find fits. Lastly, they will be looking to get some commitments from targets that they believe they are close with.

My words: If most of that list comes. I wouldn't see it as a disappointment if they don't get any commitments but it is expected that they get something. Guys like Bilal would be some that I think they push for.

This was from this morning's South Bend Tribune

Irish invasion
Notre Dame hopes to add a bit more flair to its summer camp session in June. Head coach Brian Kelly even hinted at bouncy castles. The result? The June 20 elite camp branded “Irish Invasion.”
The Irish annually hold summer camps at Notre Dame for top prospects, but this year the coaching and recruiting staffs are working to build the camp into something bigger. Recruits have been receiving invites throughout the spring.
“I think if you can make it a special event and really try to bring in other pieces around it, it makes it more attractive for them to want to come to it,” Kelly said recently at the Irish Legends golf outing at Olympia Fields (Ill.) Country Club. “So we wanted to do something a little bit more and add a little bit more than just your traditional ‘come to our camp.’”
The goal, as always, is to bring top prospects from around the country onto campus. The change comes in the marketing and promoting of the event as the place to be on June 20. Notre Dame wants to create an atmosphere that top recruits make time for because of the other talent expected on campus.
“Essentially it's just the way we're communicating the event more so than anything else,” Kelly said. “We're making it a family event, too. We're trying to get the families to come to it. So there's going to be bouncy things out there for kids — it's going to have a carnival kind of atmosphere to it.”
“We're flying in coaches from all over the country, high school coaches, to work this camp. We're bringing in sponsors to sponsor this event. So there's much more of an investment in all of those realms to this particular event."
A number of programs like Florida, Georgia and Ohio State have had success with similarly branded camps. The most successful are often schools with a deep recruiting pool in its region, a challenge Notre Dame has faced in making previous camps bigger.

I think this has been posted in a thread but Natrez Patrick told Sampson on Friday evening that he's still coming for camp.
