Thanks for the advice. I don't think they'll be $85, but if I pay $200 for each ticket I'll be estatic. I've never gone through the ticket office though.

Just really concerning that it jumped $120 in less than two weeks.

Well I've never seen the ticket office sell tickets for $90, so it shouldn't be more than that

You're making me very happy right now... I was expecting to pay ~ $300 per ticket for low-end seats on the ND side.

I got my USC tickets through the ticket office last year after USC returned some of theirs, and I think I got them for $100 a piece. But either way, it's better to test your luck with beating everyone to the phone than paying 2x the face value.

Just sent in the application for my tickets. I will be in my usual spot in sec 19 for 110 per (face value).

Spring Game Roundup: QB Brandon Harris shines for LSU, Baylor RBs impress | Campus Union - SI.com

Michigan’s offense was a little shaky in its spring finale, which culminated the program’s first spring under new offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier. But Wolverines coach Brady Hoke said it isn’t unusual to see a defense grab the spotlight during spring workouts.

More than a few struggles came at quarterback, where Michigan’s returning starter, Devin Gardner, completed only 2-of-10 passes on the day, though one went for 44 yards to Freddy Canteen. Coming off a toe injury, Gardner finished with a mere 53 yards while fellow passer Shane Morris connected on five of his 11 pass attempts for 73 yards.

The Wolverines’ offensive line, which was inconsistent last year, played a role in Saturday’s subpar offensive outing, according to Hoke. Right guard Kyle Kalis was the only member of Saturday’s first-team line that started in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. Consequently, the defense netted five sacks, and defensive end Frank Clark and cornerback Jourdan Lewis (two picks) headlined a unit that produced a successful day Saturday.

My immediate, pessimistic thought on Michigan is "Oh great, their defense is finally going to be legit and who cares who bad Gardner looks, because we know he'll go for 400 on us".

Am I crazy?

Fuck them.

with a new offense i dont think they were gonna show their hand at all. not much to take from the scrimmage really, and them hyping up derrick green just makes me think he still fat and prolly won't do squat all season

FWIW, he's allegedly cut 20 pounds and is a 'beast'.

They'll beat us and then their season will collapse, like always.

He actually does look like a different back. Not saying he'll be a stud, but he did lose a lot of bad weight.

He does. But if that OL is still putrid it may not matter. I think playing them early might be beneficial this year. Our D should bring more pressure than they will be used to that early. Stunts and what not could have them in a whirlwind.

They had a couple UM players from the area they interviewed on the local TV news, and they stated clearly, UM's goal was an outright "Big 10" title.

The goal of anyone in the BIG, with the exception of tOSU, is to win the BIG and go to the Rose Bowl. Everyone else has moved on, they are stuck in a time warp of 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

Supposedly Michigan's goal every year is to win the B1G championship. They've "never cared about mythical national championships," which is what any team would say when they haven't won one outright since the frickin' 40s.

from what i saw at the practices a couple weeks ago in regards to ann arbor:

derrick green looks explosive, but seemed to struggle when he made contact with defenders. got tripped up a lot and didn't break many tackles. justice hayes had some solid moments as well and personally i thought he was better than green.

their O Line was very inconsistent. started slow, but got better as the week went on. the defense was bringing a ton of blitzes and learning a new system under nussmeier just made things a lil more difficult i'm sure. they will be very young up front, which will hopefully play to our advantage, but then again we'll also be very young up front.

Gardner looked pretty decent i thought and he will give us problems again this year imo with his athleticism. however, outside of funchess, who is an absolute beast of a human being, they didn't seem to have any playmakers on the perimeter. Getting jake butt back from injury will help, but they need help in this area fast.

Morris did not look very good imo, and i'm not just saying that. i thought their early enrollee speight looked better as the week went on.

their defense i thought looked very good. i struggled with this b/c i couldn't tell if their offense was that bad or their defense was that good. it was probably a little bit of both. Frank Clark is a stud and will play on sunday's and i thought their secondary was VERY athletic and they had good depth at the cornerback position. Joe Bolden absolutely raped kyle bosch on a pull play one time and i can't remember ever hearing a collision so violent in my entire life on a football field.

just a little tidbit from watching 3 days of practice at their clinic. imo it'll be another hard fought battle, which we will hopefully be able to pull out in the end.

Apologize for bumping with no info, but I had 2 questions about this game.

1) Who do you think they guest speaker at the pep rally will be? The obvious answer is Holtz, but I wonder if it won't be Digger since he just retired? Maybe he'll come to South Bend for one last hurrah. I love his 'Tonight we beat Southern Cal' speech.

2) I'm looking at the week 2 matchups, and I think MSU vs. Oregon will be the only game that 'trumps' this one. Do you suppose Gameday will choose Oregon for the location? Two top ranked teams, or ranked (likely) Notre Dame vs. Michigan for the final time. Maybe Wizards8507 knows :)

Digger would be cool. Then again, I'd be fine with Troy Niklas coming back and reprising his "Love the Pain" speech from 2012  We had Dickie V for that pep rally too.

I don't think MSU vs. Oregon will trump our matchup. For one, we'll be on a prime time night game, last matchup of ND and Meatchicken for the foreseeable future. Oregon and Michigan State are probably both better teams than Michigan at this stage, but scUM always plays their best game against us and rests on their laurels the rest of the season until tOSU. It'll be a must see game. I hope we have a better game plan than we had last year, and we don't let the next Gallon run rampant in our secondary.

Hey, he took his shirt off. You're preaching to the choir. I don't really want Dickie V. I like him more than Corso, but they're in the same category IMO. I'd rather it be Regis/Digger/Holtz.

I'm sure theirs is at night too. I'm thinking MSU and Oregon will be top 10 teams, and we'll be top 20 teams. I think 'the final game' might win out, though, but MSU vs. Oregon obviously has a hell of an argument.

I think the fact that our recent games against Michigan have been bonkers will play in our favor.

You have to remember that rivalry games always carry a lot of weight, even though a one time series between teams like Oregon and MSU are also big deals. It certainly will be a big game, but I think we'll edge them out in ratings, viewers, whatever other metrics you want to use. I think MSU could end up crushing Oregon too, but we'll have to see. Oregon does poorly against smash mouth teams with good defense. It just depends on which Sparty team shows up: The one we faced in September, or the one that beat Stanford.

As far as Dickie V, he may not be an alumnus or former coach, but he has a lot of love for ND. If I'm not mistaken both of his kids went to ND, and he speaks very highly of the university. I'm fine with him speaking at a pep rally again, he was great in 2012 I thought. Still, I would certainly rather have Lou or Digger if they're available.

It's the name of the game. Are we supposed to avoid insulting them since they've won recently?

I agree and they will be even better on defense this year, IMO. But you have to admit, they're been on the right side of luck against us.
