I'm right there with you. I can see Everett going all Russell Wilson if his longball accuracy gets better, and I think our other guys have potential. But Barnett...

I remember when his name first popped up and I was hearing he might get an offer, my gut reaction as I was starting to Google him was "who the hell is this guy and why would he get an offer with how loaded the '15 class is at QB?"... but then his highlights loaded. And he was jaw-dropping on film.

His ceiling is absurd, he has all the tools of a Heisman caliber player with 1st round NFL upside. He's got all the intangibles you want with all of the physical traits you want... and all of his areas for improvement are things that should be coachable. Unless he turns out to be Tebow with uncorrectable mechanics, I don't see how he doesn't dominate CFB.

I have thought about this for a few days; I feel you Lax! Now I think I have it right. What I like best is the feeling in my gut when I look at the uber-absurd talent of the quartet we will have versus any recent year. I think it isn't just that we have this guy or that guy. We have two or three more that can get in and do it if one goes down. Campaign tough!

Oregon is always the last school to offer kids. They do things differently

Oregon has been on him for awhile. They have been an aggressor in his recruitment, love the offer for him but nothin to worry about

Rosen and Barnett at the NFTC today. Barnett already has his ticket from winning the Elite 11

He's going to clown this kid in college. No joke, he is hungry to be the best. Rosen is good but in a college game Barnett will own him.

I see Rosen being a more mobile Clausen. I see Barnett as Mariotta but much much better in terms of passing.

Lucky..... you're way better than this......

Well said. I should have said it better, but I do find it funny that a guy that wasn't a take is now recruiting somebody they just now offered. I have no respect for Oregon and how they do things.

footwork and follow through look great, but the pre-release looks robotic still to me, not that i know a ton on QB fundamentals, but that's just how it looked to me.

I totally agree, he has a very long release that will need to be shortened up. However he puts great spin on the the ball and very good arm strength. Deep ball looks very good in these films. Like ousts have said including myself he has insane upside but it needs to be refined.

They can both be great. They'll most likely never face each other in college, so no one will be clowning anyone. I saw Rosen play as a sophomore and I said then that he'd be the best QB in the class. I haven't seen Barnett but people in Socal say he'll be great too.

My former student who played with Rosen told me last year that Rosen was a stud but REAL cocky...I'm sure nothing's changed there. Still, there are plenty of cocky QB's who are AA's and All-Pro's. If he gets in the right system, Rosen has the ability to dominate.

I'm really glad we have Barnett, and I'm glad USC and Stanford most likely aren't getting Rosen...

If the offensive line develops as I think it will under Harry H., a good QB can do great things. A great QB can win Chanpionships.

Barnett talks latest offer

Anyone? I think it's just going to be your typical "great to have the offer, still committed to ND, blah blah" thing.

Basically. Oregon said that they respect his commitment but they would still recruit him. He says that he's a fit for their offense but he's very committed at this time. Mentioned his relationship with BK as being the main factor.

Ok - pretty standard stuff. Oregon is respecting his commitment so they aren't pushing hard for him to switch. Says he knows he'd fit their offense well but say's he's "very committed at the moment" - Whatever that means...

JB at II says as long as BK is the coach, he is confident that Blake Barnett will remain committed.

I'm really glad he has a close relationship with BK, though I'd rather Notre Dame be the deciding factor.

But I get it, it starts with strong relationships.

Anyway, it's too early to be getting into this.

I'm glad he's Irish. Hope to see him next Spring!

Is this the same Oregon staff that pulls a kid's offer if he visits another school? I guess the expectations for their verbal commitments are different than their expectations of themselves. Verbally commit to Oregon and don't you dare visit anywhere else. Verbally commit somewhere else, and we will invite/encourage you to switch your commitment to us.

His release is somewhat longer than it has to be, but it's not horrible. Still quicker than Zaire's, and quicker still compared to Tebow (even the "I cleaned up my throwing motion" NFL Tebow).

In addition to his relationship with BK, he is visiting ND for a week this summer. I'd say he is pretty strong.
