I sure hope we get this kid

Welcome! I wouldn't recommend putting text in the title of your posts. The biggest reason being that (as you can see) when someone quotes you they can't include your first sentence.

@AnnaHScout: LB Josh Barajas said it was when talking w/ Irish DC Brian VanGorder he almost committed to Notre Dame ($): Scout.com: Barajas earns Irish offer, names leader

-Really likes the tradition, football program, and staff

-When he was with VanGorder, he almost committed on the spot. Says he is a really cool guy.

-His relationship with the coaches will be the deciding factor.

-Plans to take visits to Nebraska, Ole Miss, V Tech, Penn State, and OK State.

-Also high on UM and Penn State.

I think BK might have hit another homerun with BVG (at least with recruiting anyway).

Love this picture always nice to see recruits bonding with current players. These two playing together along with hilliard and morgan would be a scary LB crew in a few years.

Jaylon won't be there in a few years.

The last three months has seen Merrillville (Ind.) Andrean Top247 linebacker Josh Barajas land his first offer, quickly followed by 12 more scholarships.

Josh Barajas
Barajas is ranked by 247Sports as the nation's No. 3 ILB but he could also play OLB on the next level.

While the 6-foot-3, 210-pound Barajas is sifting through the college football recruiting process, he did jump on one of his latest opportunities.

An invitation to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 3 inside linebacker, Barajas will cap his prep career in San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 3. The game will be played inside the Alamo Dome and broadcasted on national television on NBC. Over 40,000 fans, with several donning the Army Strong colors, have attended the pinnacle high school football all-star game the last three years.

“I can’t wait for it,” Barajas said. “It’s a true honor with the Army sponsoring it.

“You just hear about people being an All American and you never really think it can be you, and when it is it’s an awesome feeling and I’m looking forward to playing in it.”

A state champion during the fall, Barajas registered 92 tackles, five sacks and two interceptions. He is the top-rated prospect in the state of Indiana by 247Sports and the 247Sports Composite Ratings.

Barajas was speechless when the U.S. Army All-American Bowl offer came in.

“I was thinking about it, and sitting there and thinking about it and letting it sink in,” Barajas said. “It was awesome. My coach and I were talking about it and all the fun it’s going to be going down there and we’re excited.

“I feel like getting to compete against and meet all the other top prospects and national-level recruits is what I look forward to the most. It’s going to be one of the first big stadiums I’ll play in with that many people watching. It’s going to be awesome. I feel the crowd is going to get me pumped up and in the zone to play.”

Barajas could end up playing his college football home games on NBC as well.

Notre Dame is the current and unanimous leader to land Barajas according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball. He visited South Bend on March 1, was offered a scholarship and named the Irish his favorite. Other schools he has interest in includes offers from Michigan, Ole Miss, Maryland, Penn State and Virginia Tech.

“Notre Dame was beautiful and the coaches were great,” Barajas said. “I just have to see if I can see myself fit in a program even more than Notre Dame. See if I like the coaches more.”

Besides Notre Dame, Barajas has visited Illinois, Purdue, Michigan and Michigan State. He is scheduled to visit Penn State on Saturday and Ohio State on March 22.

“I feel like I’m getting closer,” Barajas said of a potential college commitment.
