Tom Luginbill released his first 2015 Premium Prospect Board, which is a "a look at the members of the Class of 2015 who offer the most immediate impact and early value potential to the college football teams they are committed to or are considering." Only 10 names on the list at this point, but 2 in particular important to us - Jashon Cornell at #2, Barnett at #10 (#2 QB behind Town). He ranks Kevin Tolliver as #1

The youtube comments make it look like he is a solid commit to Oregon because one of their coaches made a visit.

It's incredibly awesome that our first three '15 commits, all absolute studs at vital positions, are boys with each other and are individually planning on enrolling early to ND. Talk about a dream start to the '15 class.

Crazy that all three studs are going to be EEs. I believe this year will be a phenomenal class. I know the first three are big time on the O side, but I think we will see the D start popping with a couple huge gets. BVG is gong to start blowing things up IMO. Betting we will start maxing out that 85 number soon.

I doubt it. USC is going to reel in five star after five star (seriously, like 5+ of them), so will Ohio State, and Alabama is Alabama.

optimism at this point runs wild with barrnetts eventual bump to 5* and our shot with hillard/cornell, not forgetting hodge and tllery ofcourse.

a kid can dream.

Odds are obvious that ND will finish better than SC in the recruiting ranks (take that for what it's worth). I am supremely confident that ND has 2 future 5-stars already committed, and I believe they'll add at least 2 more (Cornell, Hilliard, Fitz to name a few).

My buddy is an insane UCLA fan. He thinks Barnett is one of the top 3 cali QBs and there's a big drop after that. At this point most recruiting sites don't wanna give a guy a huge bump in the ratings this quick.

The crazy thing is, our OL recruiting is probably done by the summer. Does that free Hiestand up to take a more active job in recruiting some other positions?

Curious, because I follow USC recruiting and if the odds are so obvious, I'm not seeing it. Please enlighten.

(Btw, before you begin, the 2015 class in CA is LOADED and USC already leads for a lot of those players.)

The issue people likely see USC having is these kids think w a new coach sc is gonna dominate but with what they lose they likely do worse than last year. Apparently sark is going to no or limited contact practices... He should ask Kiffy about that.

The thing is, their schedule is very manageable once again. It sets up very nicely for them. I don't think they'll be great at all and I'm not impressed with Sark as a coach, but the power of USC is still very real and very strong out in SoCal. These kids grew up on Leinart and Bush and Williams and Carroll, and now that they are of high school age many of them still dream of going to USC.

As for limited contact, that's only for the spring where they will be severely limited in numbers as they wait for the freshmen and POW's to come in. We'll see what they do in the fall.

Probably right on this. Most likely only will take 1 more. Maybe 2.

Don't let the negative people bring you down. There are a lot of them around here. Barnett will be the best QB in this class. It's not even close if you ask me.

Personally, I'm far from negative. But giving on honest opinion, even if it's not blindly covered in gold and blue glasses, doesn't mean one is being negative. How boring would this place be if everyone just automatically said ND is #1 and we'll get the number class and everyone else sucks? It's not negative to say that USC could have a monster class next year. They absolutely could, and I think we'll still beat them.

And Josh Rosen is a stud. Saw him play as a soph and you could see it then. Last year he absolutely killed it and he deserves all of the praise he gets, and has earned his high ranking. That doesn't mean that Blake isn't great too. But IMO, not only it is close, in many people's minds, ND recruitniks as well, Rosen is #1 and Blake is #2. I'm perfectly fine with that, cause Blake is going to blow up at ND...

I think ucla is getting Rosen and two more Cali five stars. USC is gonna have trouble in their own back yard this year.

Yeah I don't see how it is being strictly 'negative' to think there may be a QB or two as talented or preferable for a different college coach and/or system then Blake. That's being objective and rationale.

Every ND fan that follows recruiting that I have seen loves Blake and his potential. But if someone were to argue they wanted Rosen, Town, Gibson or Stidham, in my eyes that is completely valid.

We got a hard working kid with almost no ceiling on his potential, who seems to really love ND. Why can't we be happy with that? Why does Blake have to be everyone's consensus #1 QB?

I just don't see any way our class is ranked ahead of USC come next NSD. Even if Sark looks like a dipshit, they'll still have a higher ranked class.

Of the top 10 recruits in Cali for '15, USC leads for SIX of them (counting Town). Four of those are 5:s: recruits! I know "things can change in recruiting" but Hollywood is right, USC is often immune to the effects of recruiting because of the allure of So Cal.

It's too strong to completely overcome through Denbrock's recruiting and through winning more games than USC. They have to either be hit by sanctions or hire a complete fool like Kiffin. They have to royally "F" up in order to not kill it in recruiting. That's just the way it is.

Could our class be better, sure. Will it, no.

The other guy not talked about enough is Brady White. Complete package. No superior traits, but a QB with all of the tools... smooth, good release, decent athleticism, decent arm, accurate.

For the life of me I do not understand the love of Town, and I think Rosen is great but he reminds me of Clausen's situation on a lot of levels.

Other than ND football, I grew up on all things UCLA. So it pains me to say this, but what makes you think this? You're so definitive, but yet the facts simply don't back up what you are saying.

Think about this: UCLA just kicked the crap out of USC twice, USC is in the midst of one of the worst sanctions in NCAA history, PLUS they levied their own self-sanctions, otherwise known as "The Hiring of Lane Kiffin". And then they pissed off their fanbase and several recruits by not retaining the uber-popular Ed O and hired a .500 coach. UCLA had EVERYTHING going for it, and USC could easily be seen as a floundering ex-super power, yet USC still kicked their ass on NSD.

So how is UCLA going to do it next year when they didn't come close to doing it this year? This year, with Mora talking all kinds of shit about USC and putting on the full-court press for several recruits who would later become USC signees (he had his whole staff barge in on Bryce Dixon's school to convince Dixon to still visit UCLA behind his parents' back AND against their wishes, which pissed of Dixon's dad beyond belief; did the same thing to Adoree and got him to visit with his mom to no avail), he still came up woefully short on NSD, going 1 for 12 on highly ranked recruits they were supposedly still in play for (many of them longshots, truthfully).

Per Rivals, USC nabbed three of the top-4 players in California and nine of the top-25. UCLA ended up with one of CA's top-10 and two from the top-25. Oklahoma got more top-10 players from California than UCLA did.

We're still gonna beat USC this year, I firmly believe that, but they are still going to have a higher ranked class next year than us IMHO (they can take 25 while we will have a much smaller class, plus like I said, CA is LOADED next year and USC is already in great spots for many of those players) and they will most likely beat UCLA once again in recruiting, and hopefully lose to them as well...
