It will be interesting to see how much BVG's scheme changes from Diaco's. If it's quite significant that, in theory, would put everybody on the same playing field from a knowledge perspective. Who does that benefit?

someone think of the Heggie :( :(

I take it him and Massa the only 2 not to get a 5th?

And the bunch that's headed to Miami of Ohio. I'd figure most if not all of them got the message they wouldn't make the cut.

At 250 pounds, (ideal for a 34 Ted LB) he can take on blocks and free up Grace and Smicht to make plays. I think he will have a regular role.

What do you think will be the depth chart at ILB?

Ted: Moore/Morgan, Martini.
Mike: Grace, Schmidt, Deeb.

Something like that?

If I remember correctly, which I'm probably not, I believe Corey Mays didn't start until his 5th year.

I remember the huge hit Mays had against Michigan in 2005. That was an awesome game.

Does that mean I'm getting old? I go back to the days of Lake Dawson, Lee Becton, Irv Smith...

edit: Dawson is currently the Vice President of Football Operations for the Tennessee Titans. Good for him!

I think he even interviewed for the Dolphins GM opening a couple weeks ago. It appears Lake is going places in the NFL-front-office world.

Doesn't sound like he is going to make any sort of impact this year..

Almost would like to see him used as a goal-line fullback. I don't see him making any impact on D, but should be solid on ST. He's not going to make an impact on D unless he drops about 15-20 lbs from where he was last year. He looked like a DL.

Wow. So our LB recruiting under Weis:

2009: Te'o, Fox, Calabrese
2010: Moore, Shembo

1 OLB in two years. Nice.

Diaco bringing in only 2 MLBs over a 3 year time span is worse. Especially since we were running a 3-4.

Why does Weis get the blame for his years, but the failures of Kelly's regime fall on Diaco?

I threw Weis out there cause he was always switching his DC. 3 in 5 years right so I'm not sure which DC to blame.

And I hated the MLB/DT recruiting that Kelly/Diaco did his first few years. I just find it hilarious that Weis brought in Te'o, Fox, and Calabrese in the same cycle.
