Notre Dame Acceptances for Class of 2018

I went to Xavier and got into SLU. I got money from both but less from slu. Xavier gives away a lot of money if your smart. I'm still living in the Cincy area. Xavier was great for me and I still know a lot of professors and admin. Great school and if you have any questions let me know. Also, ask the admissions people at either school for more money and tell them that you have offers from other schools and they might increase your scholarship.

Apparently the "priority deadline" for scholarships for SLU was December 1. I applied December 28.

From the SLU website:

Billiken, Ignatian, University, Deans' and Vice Presidents' Scholarships

These four-year merit-based scholarships are available to incoming freshmen and do not require a separate scholarship application; the Application for Freshman Admission automatically qualifies applicants for consideration. After the priority deadline, scholarships will be awarded as funds are available.

Shit just checked the back page of the packet SLU sent and there it is, a separate letter with the scholarship for 14,000 a year. I'll take it.

SLU's legit. I loved it my first year. It's a great starting point if you still want to be at ND. Anyway, congrats BRO MONTANTA on the scholarships to both X and SLU.

Philly I am still rooting for you to go to X, but that is great regarding SLU. You can still ask for more money from SLU tell them that you really want to go there but you have more money from X

Good luck gents, but don't get down about the decision if it doesn't go as planned. You will be happy wherever you end up and if it is really your dream, there is nothing wrong with transferring.

SLU more than Xavier. I really liked Fordham when I visited there so they may be by backup I guess bout I haven't gotten their decision yet.

I applied to seven schools besides ND:
Accepted:
Baylor
SLU
Xavier
Saint Joes
Elon

I've gotten 11,000+ from all those except Elon whose scholly info comes out soon. Waiting on Fordham and Loyola Maryland. Not the most impressive list for a prospective ND. In retrospect I really should have applied to more reaches. Guidance Councelor kind of discouraged me from applying to like Wake Forest or Boston College I guess.

You do have some really good schools on there that can help you land a nice first job out of college. I decided on Xavier over several schools and if I had went anywhere else, they would have kicked my ass out for my freshman year grades, so it turned out to be the best choice for me (even over ND). As all the other guys on here are saying, you may find that option 2 or 3 ends up the best for you in the long run.

I've really been liking Baylor recently for whatever reason. Never visited but the campus looks really nice. Plus they have a Gold Dome.

And their new football stadium looks frickin awesome.

If I remember correctly, letters usually come on Saturdays. Or Mondays if USPS runs behind.

I am really excited for all you guys. College is just such a fun and exciting experience, no matter where you go, and there are great things about every school. Hope you are all happy when you get your ND letters (I've got a beer with each of your names on it at a tailgate next fall), but, if not, try not to be too sad. You are going to have a hell of a time and have great opportunities ahead of you no matter what.

I know a current professor at Baylor as well as someone who went to graduate school there. Both really like(d) the university and only have positive things to say about it.
