That type of "holding" never, ever gets called. Every OL on every play "holds" on the interior of the jersey. If the DL uses his hands that badly and gets eaten up, they'd only call a hold if he was actually blowing by the OL and getting yanked down. So because Russel is working into him to get to the cone and not past him, you'd never see it called.

I'm still throwing the flag. 10 yards from the spot of the foul.

And another 15 on IrishLax for unsportsmanlike conduct.

I agree with what you're saying except his left hand is outside and he's holding at the shoulder pad. That gets called frequently.

As an offensive linemen I immediately thought holding when I saw the video for the first time. He yanks the guy back with his right arm, if only for a second. Maybe it doesn't get called in a game, but it looks like Sam had to pull him back after the DT made a move to get past.

This is the quality you get from Sun Belt refs. Let 'em play ball!

Slow news day, eh gents?

I just got the feeling when I saw VanHaaren post the Vine that he was showing Mustipher get beat. I'm sure there were a number of reps, why is he showing this one? I'm questioning motives here! Who is this VanHaaren guy anyway? Quick Google...B1G reporter for ESPN. Hmmmm.

Watch your step, son. I'll eject you for targeting. AND I'll uphold that shit on review.

Any chance Mustipher becomes our NG commit for this class?

Doubt it. He has the physical tools to, so he could. But Dickerson is supposed to be the real deal... and I also think we're going to be largely moving away from a 3-4 that plays a true NG.

Thanks. I thought I read recently -- maybe in the new DC thread -- that Kelly wanted to maintain a 3-4???? I could be wrong.

He also was the moderator/person responsible for Michigan's ESPN fan nation page (they've since been replaced with CFBNation pages that amount to little more than a page generated by showing every article with a specific school tagged).

He's a meat chicken homer.

From today's reports it appears he plays with a nasty streak and tenacity, therefore I don't think he'd fit in on our defense.

Ok...something finally make me laugh today. I hope to hell that we have a considerably nastier defense next year.

I edited my post. Diaco already played a bit of an amoeba defense, but with BVG I think you'll see a very big mix of 3-4 and true 4-3. He's not married to one scheme or the other and Kelly said he's looking for a guy who can coach both. I also think he's far too aggressive to play a cautious defense and isn't looking for a true 3-4 NG that is gigantic and looks to occupy blockers as their primary responsibility. Maybe I'm wrong... because he's known for trying to feature his linebackers, so maybe he will want to protect them... but I think he'd rather gamble with a penetrating, disruptive DT than a cannot-be-moved DT.

I think, if Tuitt comes back (which I doubt), you'll see a lot of base 4-3 with DE + Tuitt + day + Ishaq followed by Jaylon-MIKE-SAM... with both Jaylon and whoever plays SAM (Councell? Moore? Grace? Randolph?) being used aggressively to rush the passer and attack the line of scrimmage.

When you'll see 3-4, it'll be Tuitt-Jones-Rochelle(Day?) with the linebackers used aggressively instead of passively in coverage.

This is what I was talking about when I was surprised that there were four programs rated with better O-line hauls. People talk about Bar and Nelson. This kid can block in space or with a man over him. He plays to the whistle. And he knocks a lot of people down. That may not happen at the next level, but it shows bad intent!

This kid is relentless. Gets to the next level and keeps going. I love the improvement from his Jr. to Sr. year. Harry will be able to mold this kid into a road grader!

Well he's got better DT upside than either of the prospects left on the board. He's an absolute bull. Would probably play at a legit 6'3" 310 and be an immovable object. Only thing I'd worry about is his first step.
