seemingly at the weekend Stanford brought all their commits/recruits to the EA Sports HQ where they got to see themselves created in NCAA playing for Stanford. Pretty cool visit i can imagine for guys like Dalton who are video gamers

Too bad these kids will never get to see themselves in an NCAA game again. Thanks, <strike>Obama</strike> O'Bannon!

Didn't the NCAA terminate their contract with EA Sports for the football game over the summer?

Didn't the NCAA terminate their contract with EA Sports for the football game over the summer?

The SEC, Big 10, and the Pac 12 all announced they wouldn't license their trademark to EA last year. As a result of that and and a bunch of legal issues with the NCAA, EA announced there wouldn't be a game for 2014.

Blatant Violation

Time to start a video game technology degree.

Yea, I doubt many football players will become software engineers... I guess a video game tester degree would fit the bill. It's hard to find a job with that though.

Shane Scov is a comp sci major. They even did a little video about him doing all night coding work if I remember correctly.

I will say that Dalton did not seem very excited like he did after the ND visit. The EA visit I am sure peaked his interest since he is so into Computers and Game.

I'm sure this has been covered already, but why hasn't Dalton pledged to Stanford yet?

Does he just want his NSD moment or is he genuinely conflicted about who his choice will be?

not sure you can always "commit" to stanford pretty quickly often they gotta wait ages for admissions there to let them in. im just guessing on this though.

Ah, that's a guess I hadn't really entertained. I just assumed that with a solid offer at this point in the process, he'd be good to go. Thanks.

I talked to Coach Booker last night, and unfortunately I've decided that I will not be attending ND this coming year.

I know this will disappoint some of you and I have the greatest respect for ND and all that the fans have done for me. It's amazing really.

I had a blast while I was there and Notre Dame is a truly amazing place.... Hard to put the feeling into words.
Thank you to all those affiliated with ND, you guys all made my recruitment process so fun! I wish the Irish the best of luck!

Not at all surprised. Though many were excited to see and hear his reaction to the ND visit, the video he made displayed a kid very much into hearing himself talk and trying to gain more attention through social media followers, not someone genuinely blow away about ND. Of course I would have loved for him to play ball for the Irish but am not at all surprised by this news.

Wish more recruitments were handled with this level of class. Best of luck to Mr. Schultz (except for when we play Stanford ;)).

Kids like Dalton are far too rare in this world of recruiting. Will be shocked if he doesn't end up dominating at life.

He reminded me of Ben the Soldier from Its Always Sunny for some reason in his video.

Per Southbend Tribune Article, he eliminated ND tonight from consideration.

Disregard: This post has been deemed late and completely redundant.

Would really recommend watching this, kid is going to be a pain to play against, but wish him nothing but the best.

Wow, hard not to like the kid. Glowing recommendations for Notre Dame, but ultimately it looks like the fact we already had 2 TEs helped drive him to look elsewhere.
