Steve asked the uncle if LJ going to OSU changes anything and he responded, "not yet."

Gleitman at Bucknuts said it was Urban's decision to stop recruiting Holley but then added that if LJ really wants Holley he is sure Urban would reconsider.

Wiltfong posted that one of the things ND needs to do is convince Holley that they'll be running a 4-3 and not a 3-4. That was one of the reasons that ND faded the first time around. He also said that things don't look good for ND right now.

BK was on Bill King's radio program this morning and stated that we were lined up with 4 down linemen on 48% of the defensive snaps this year. Can't get much closer then half than that.

I get that there are differences, and that Holley probably isn't a prototypical Nix-style 3-4 nose. But these kids who get all bunched up about what system they think they fit best in kind of baffle me.
You're not going to get to pick the scheme your whole career. And maybe trust the coaches a little. If our staff wants Holley for our hybrid 3-4/4-3 line, it's possible they know a little more about how he might fit in it than he does at this point.

At one point earlier in the process I remember Holley saying something about playing in multiple fronts and learning more techniques would benefit him long term (which I agree with). So this type of development screams his uncles influence, IMO.

anyone know how to configure the #'s for Urban's class? Granted I know it's Urban and they'll get rid of whoever they need to in order to get who they want, but maybe just to get an idea of how many spots they have left and for what positions they're trying to recruit down the stretch?

i'll look at the roster and try to figure it out.

Honestly (and I have said this before) from the interviews I saw and read from him he seemed like he was interested in playing football because everyone told him he would have a better chance to succeed at a higher level than if he went the basketball route. I was also not impressed by his football film and he seemed like a big project football IQ wise. Go back and watch that interview with him and Jay Hayes. He looked like the last place he wanted to be was with Jay in that interview. I always thought it was awkward.
