I was there, hit a three to tie it with 23.4 to go in regulation. Missed one at the end of ot to tie it again. He's thicker than he was last year when I watched him play, especially in his lower half. Still a really smooth athlete. His team doesn't have much else but him but is still ranked 9th in the state.

This film was against St Johns Jesuit, my old high school. I am not sure that SJ is poised to have their greatest season this year, but Ed Heintschel, is one of the most effective coaches ever, from Northwest Ohio. His bad teams usually dominate all be the best. Just to give you an idea of the competition.

The kind of guys that have scored 29 against SJ before have been guys like Dennis Hopson, Jimmy Jackson, Todd Mitchell, Kelvin Ransey, and Truman Claytor.

I know all about the Johnnies and the Stache. One of the best programs in the state.

SFS Knights.

Nice to see Kizer is coming to campus with a healthy dose of reality.

I know you do, and I think you said you were at the game. I was just letting the rest of the board in on what kind of competition they were playing. As it tell this kid he can't!

I acknowledged Todd Mitchell, other than that, "Frannies blow dead donkeys, FBolt!"

Dropped 29 points in his basketball game last night. Kid can ball, is pretty darn athletic:

Is that DI Talent in hoops? I can't really tell.

yes they are Division 1 if that's what you're asking

if you're asking could he play D 1 basketball, i'd cautiously say yes....could easily play for a MAC school in basketball imo with size and athletic ability

Really? If that's all you have to bring to the table....

Sad, demented, osteoporosis laden, turtleneck wearing old man. Just sad.

Could probably play lower level d1 basketball I'd think. He's good but I think it's more a case of him being the best athlete on the court as opposed to being a great basketball player.

Psychotic, tongue-twerking, wiffle-sniffing, cramped, young fart, who's mother is a hamster and father smells of elderberries. Love you too, Teabag!

Oh, he knows it already. He is just teasing. The man is wise, (just not very bright, after all he is a Frannie.) Seriously though, FBOLT actually has helped me out in the past, and we used to be neighbors or something close. So, he ked.

From Keith Arnold's latest article:

2003 QB Depth Chart
Brady Quinn, Fr.
Carlyle Holiday, Sr.
Pat Dillingham, Jr.

"Though Quinn was locked into the starting job, the depth chart was precariously thin, and the Irish staff signed two quarterbacks. Unfortunately both quarterbacks were two-star prospects, with Darrin Bragg and David Wolke signing in February."

Good lord. This certainly gave me a jolt of perspective. I can't believe that was only ten years ago, it feels like thirty.

Holy shit. It's funny I don't ever remember it being that bleak. I mean I remember when the bottom fell out and we only won 3 games but to look back to the pre-BK era it just seems so much worse.

Does everyone remember when our qb depth chart looked like this?
1) Arnaz Battle, who by all account should have always been a wr.
2) Gary Godsey, who probably should have stayed a te.
3) Matt Lovecchio, I mean come on, at least he was a qb I guess.

Dark days.

Arnaz Battle was a better QB than you give him credit for. Arnaz nearly knocked off #1 Nebraska with a broken wrist in 2000, dude was good. A great Option QB, but he probably was destined to be a receiver when it came down to it.

I liked Arnaz, and he was tough, but I don't remember him being that good of a qb. Maybe I'm mis-remembering, but they don't normally make good qbs into wrs in their junior years. That was a long time ago though.

As I remember, he was a real fighter. He gave it his all. He of course was hamstrung with Davies, so who knows how that translates.

Doubt he could have stood up for a second start under today's scrutiny!

Arnaz certainly wasn't known for his arm in his short run at QB, but he was incredibly dangerous running the ball. He averaged 5.3 and 6.0 yards a carry the few years he was under center. I'm probably wearing my green glasses though, always liked him as a player. I was a big fan after watching him gut that Nebraska game out, and he caught that slant pass from Dillingham and scampered for that big gain to break the losing streak against MSU in 2002. He had a big one against FSU the same year too.

Man, I miss Tony Roberts on the radio

Don't get me wrong, I always liked him too. I just like where we're at at the qb position much, much better nowadays. I always have preferred a pure passer at qb. And don't apologize for wearing green glasses, we all have them on most of the time.

Just saw on the Lemming report that Tom has him as the #2 dual-threat QB and #40 overall player in the country. Not sure how much stock to put in it, but that's huge if that's what we're getting.

My four football seasons were Weis' last four years (2007 was my sophomore year). I legitimately can't imagine what it was like to be on the campus for 2012. Needless to say, I'm extremely jealous of the students there right now.

First offensive play from scrimmage IIRC, and his tomahawk chop after was epic.

*As a QB though, the only memory that sticks is that abortion of a game against U$C where him and Chappell combined for 4 picks, dashing a BCS bid.
