I thought he was targeted in the red zone a few times, or were those just deep balls that ended up in that area?

I think Tommy was trying to hit Corey with a fade or two in the end zone, but it was usually when the wind was at our back and the ball ended up sailing.

once Corey bulks up he is going to be dominant in the RZ, needs some bulk to box out Db's

Robinson opened my eyes with his instincts on that end zone play where he milked the PI call. I think that was very sophisticated, esp. for a freshman. I couldn't be higher on this kid.

Off topic here...but after Corey made a catch, they showed his dad on the sideline being congratulated by a member of the 73 championship team. Does anyone know who the Admiral was talking to? Just curious since I had spoke to him at my hotel the night before.

"Drawing the foul" is innate. It's genetic. I'll take a wild guess that somewhere in his past one of his ancestors was probably a basketball player.

I share your enthusiasm. Corey was a steal!

His absence in empty backfield short yardage/goal to go sets is baffling to me.

Where has CR been the last couple of weeks? Is he hurt and I just missed it?

He's 88 right? I saw him in the game at one point. Don't think he was ever targeted, or maybe he was and Tommy threw it to a defender.

I think this is a problem, personally. Kids play well and then don't see the field for 2-3 games with meaningful opportunity. I know Fuller was a target on one throw, but it was well underthrown and almost picked. Keep the same players in for a bit to let them get into a groove. Yeah, I'm talking about Cam. Oh, and can we get a shot at Amir on KO returns and sit GAIII? He is strickly straightline speed and no moves. I'll take my chances with Amir, at least for a game or two.

Put Amir and George back there, something.

I disagree about GAIII. I think just about the only thing he IS good for is kick returns.

While I understand your feelings, I'm just saying I'm tired of seeing him run into a wall at the 16 yard line without at least making some sort of cut or anything. I know he had a decent return last week but it just seems like he is just not athletic enough. Kid has blazing speed, just lacks true elite agility.

I would say no chance by next year could he get big enough to play tight end, and after that hopefully we wouldn't need him to anymore. I think he has proven valuable enough on the outside to leave him there. Just my opinion anyways

We won't need him at TE IMO, there are already enough weapons there, some might even say potential. :)

I'm looking forward to Golson pulling off some nice fade routes to Robinson and ending our red zone woes.

I would agree... but I'm looking for Folston and Bryant to plow into the endzone on the ground on 1st-and-goal rather than watching a wasted down on a fade throw lol

The thing that is going to be fun is watching WRs get big yardage on broken plays. Robinson is hard to deal with if he is boxing you out or coming back to the ball.

(And DD can run whatever route he wants before the play breaks down.)

Corey has the size...his footwork and bulk are getting better...his body control is great...but the thing you can't train...he just wants the ball when it is in the air more than anyone else...his focus is as good as it gets...his hunger for the ball will be the difference in the red zone...

We dont need another TE and there is no way Robinson will bulk up enough to block blitzing LBs.

I don't think I'd want him at TE anyway. I could see him playing opposite of DD, and have Tori as the Z, leaving Koyak as TE we will have enough height and fear of a fade to even run it in with GB or EG. (and we know Koyak can catch a TD pass)

I like corey Robinson but this is definitely not a fade offense. You want that more in a pro style offense. Corey is very good at what he does (going to get fades and back shoulder throws) but the protypical guy is a guy that is a TJ Jones Miciah Quick type player

I agree but there is a difference between red zone fades which Corey will be very useful for (these are the types of throws that Tommy threw even when his receiver had the man beat) and deep balls which are thrown to both.

OK then, why not have a guy that can do both, if not a little more by going up and getting the ball where others can't? I'm thinking more of the final drive in the NC game where Winston hit that tall ass receiver for the game winner. Threw it TALL where no one else could get it, and I mean TALL.
